Do you enjoy camping?

When my kids were younger, we went camping several times a year in the warmer months. There was always something special about the whole idea of getting closer to nature and living more simply for those days spent camping. And the campfire at night or cooking out in the open, hiking or swimming, sleeping in a tent...all very good memories. Do you like to go camping?

Hi Karen! Camping is wonderful idea to get rid of boredoom and to make oneself refresh. You are very right that it makes you close to the mother nature. When in school, we were taken for camping. It was great fun staying in tents and cooking and eating the meals in open spaces, be it mountains or forests. Campfire was the another highlight of camping, which everyone would enjoy. However, I did not get an opportunity to go for camping with my own kids.......LOL!

Hi Deepak :) I'm sorry you haven't gotten to camp with your own kids, but you do have those great memories of camping in years gone by. I don't go very often any more, either, and I miss that! It is such a pleasant change from every-day life. Karen

I love to go camping. None of my friends camp right now so I am going alone.. I can't hardly wait. I am planning to go for a week in August and again in October. If I could live in my tent I would...lol I know alot of people probably think camping alone is no fun, dangerous, boring etc. Nope not me, I love the tranquility and becoming one with nature. I sit all night by my campfire watching wildlife come and go. Skunks, foxes, opossums, raccoons etc. snooping through other campers sites. So many people leave food out and think because it is on the picnic table it's OK... NOT. I once saw 8 skunks on one table I just sat and watched while they ate hamburger rolls, chips, donuts and whatever else they left out. Then they all start yelling about it in the morning along with half the campers.... oh well the rangers tell everyone Do not leave food out of your tent or car at night as it will be eaten by the local wildlife.... Blessed Be, Mari aka Forest Moon

Hi Mari...it is wonderful to meet someone else who will go on an adventure alone and enjoy their own company, nature, and wildlife. And yes, animals will be what animals are. When we're in their territory, we are visitors, and if we leave food out, oh well. :)) Have a wonderful time!! Karen

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji, Normally the word camping came out from 'Scouts and guides'. Fortunately myself and my hubby both have been scouts and guides during our prime time in life. It is very good recreation and as well as education for children in any family. Camping is an outdoor recreational activity. The participants, known as campers, leave urban areas, their home region, or civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or several nights, usually at a campsite, which may have cabins. Camping may involve the use of a tent, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all. Camping as a recreational activity became popular in the early 20th century. Campers frequent national parks, other publicly owned natural areas, and privately owned campgrounds. Camping is also used as a cheap form of accommodation for people attending large open air events such as sporting meetings and music festivals. Organizers will provide a field and basic amenities. I enjoy even today, but when organised by some body else. May God bless you and have a good time.

Hello my friend PeacefulWmn9 Ji, One must leave everything behind before setting out for capming, if one really wants enjoy and get educated on new place/people/nature. One's mind totally gets relaxed and ready to accept new challanges. All the best for this weekend. May god blessYou and have a great time.

Hello Peace. It is wonderful! I love the outdoors anyway, and living "in it" for days or a week or two is totally fun. So many different ways to do the daily things...like cooking and eating and such. And hiking is good for one, as is swimming. Tents are fun, too! Karen

I used to love camping when I was a kid! Now I don't want to sleep on the ground and I don't feel secure about the idea of sleeping in a tent with all the crazy things going on in the world.

Hello Canellita...I don't camp as much as I used to when I was younger and the kids were growing up. It was so much, though, getting away and doing something wonderful. Often times, I do miss it and need to go again soon. I do, however, understand why you no longer camp! Karen
