I have several barn cats. One had kittens on Thursday or Friday when i was away - she was very pregnant when i left and not so much when i got home. I spent a few hours yesterday following the momma cat around trying to find them then she went to them I could hear them under there but just couldnt see them. They are hidden under a building outside so i cant see how many there are or what colours. I cant wait til the kittens are old enough to start exploring! Have you ever had a pet that had babies just where you couldnt see them or get to them until they were old enough to wander around on their own?

I've always loved having the kittens and puppies (my parents raised pups when i was growing up) around they were so fun and nice to play with - my parents had a contract saying that if for any reason someone couldnt keep the pup they bought they would bring it back. We had one come back because the lady who got him passed on and her daughter was not able to care for him. The rest there were lots we saw quite often - a couple people came back and bought a second one - a friend for their first or to replace a lost one they had gotten before ( we had one man call us and ask if we still had the pups because he had gotten one from us 5 years before and during farming season the dog got run over with the tractor - he sounded very upset and he was so pleased when mom told him we had a litter that would be ready in a few weeks)

My parents were for about 10 years - they dont breed pups anymore. Its amazing how getting hurt or something can change somethings personality.

It sounds like you're breeders. Our first two cats were part of the litter my brother's cat had. Since one was a male and the other a female, we thought it best to have them fixed. The next cat we got just showed up one day. He was very aggressive, some might even say mean. I was told he killed one of the male kittens at our neighbors house. I don't know if it's true or not. He was a fighter, though. One day he came home with a wound on his neck. It was so bad we had to take him to the vets. While there, we asked them to fix him. He came back a changed cat. He's the sweetest boy now. If other cats challenge him, he will fight,(and because he's so big and not afraid of much of anything), and he wins, but he no longer wants to fight. Baby animals are adorable. I think kittens are the cutest.

Our cat has had litters enough. She had one litter in my moms closet. My moms closet is real cluttered so we all had to rush to get them all out and into a safer place. We had to insure that there was only four. Another cat started having her kittens in the middle of the night on my bed. I woke up from the kitten whining and turned on the closet light. I just moved the momma to my closet with blankets so she could be comfortable to finish. Sorry but my bed is not the place for kittens to be born. LOL

My friend Melane's cat just had kittens. She's in the USA and I'm in Canada, so I have not seen the kittens live, but I have seen pictures. They are so cute!! Unfortunately one of them got a bug bite or something, and passed away, with seven little kittens left. I hope they stay healthy.

Oh no thats not good. My cat has her kittens tucked wayyy back under a building - i see them every once in a while now that they are active but they are wild little kitties despite my sister and myself trying to catch them. That's ok though its a farm and it needs kitties around to keep the mice down.

Nah, although I know cats will do that. I've always had dogs and guinea pigs - not much of a cat person. Dogs will have them wherever and the guinea pigs are in the cage. It is pretty cool to watch! Once our dog had puppies outside in the winter and we had to go bring them in the house.

Seeing babies be born of anysort is such a cool thing to see. We have all sorts of babies every spring - not near as much variety as when i was growing up but Ive seen puppies born, kittens, calves, horses, lambs, bunnies..chicks hatch. Its so neat.
