What do you collect?

I am a big kid at heart and collect three things. 1) Books and movies on the Burning Man art festival (my obsession) 2) Unusual toys (like my original Chuckee doll, or me duck billed platypus stuffy) 3) Anything that glows in the dark. I am big on glow in the dark stuff and am even considering painting my next car in G.I.D. So what do you collect?

signed tissue - Remembrances and souvenirs.
Heya! I collect gifts and knickknacks.^_^ With gifts, I always keep them, even if they might not fit me anymore or that they contents of the bottle has all been used up, I still keep the bottle and whatever it is that can still be kept. Some people have the habit of gift recycling, I just dont do that. I feel as if that object has been given to me and its mine. I might want to give it to someone else but I feel that the person who gave it to me cared enough to send me that gift so I would show my appreciation by still keeping it and not giving it to someone else. There are just those people who might take offense at seeing a gift given to someone, on someone else they commonly know(as in the exact item, and not something similar, copy or double). They might think that if the receiver doesnt like the gift, then they should tell the giver so that they can exchange it for something that the receiver will actually like and give that other item to someone who would appreciate it. As for the knickknacks, those are just random stuff that might be attached/present/'witnesses' to some event in my life. Like a packet of sugar or creamer, the paper wrapping of a burger, or the receipt or a piece of tissue when my friends and I got to spend time at a cafe or a restaurant or somewhere for the first time(also included are the times when [a] friend/s confess/announces something "shocking"). I ask them to sign the receipt. Sort of like remembrance of the said event. Guess Im just that sentimental.

That is too cool! I love the idea of collecting things from your life like the tissue. You are very creative and seem to have a sweet heart. Don't ever change and thank you for sharing that with us.

Hahaha! You reminded me of one Halloween when I was dressed as an alien in a costume I made myself. I used glow-in-the-dark makeup on my face and hands so when I came outside to feed the sugar to the kids, I'd glow. Well, I had placed a blacklight outside for an eerie effect and my face and hands glowed brightly under that light, too. I looked pretty strange, for sure! LOL I collect unusual brass things. I have one particular brass object that I bought at Goodwill for 25 cents. It turned out to be a 'candle wick cutter' which haven't been made since the mid 1800's! It's worth over $400.00!!! Now you know why I collect unusual brass things. LOL I also have a collection of Beatles albums. I'm talking vinyl here! Also, I have every one of Stephen King's books, including the ones he wrote under his pseudonym, Richard Bachman. Let's see... I've tried collecting money but, as hard as I try, the pile never seems to get any larger.

ROFL I want to collect money too but it just never works out for me either. I love Stephen Kings books and had no idea he ever wrote under another name, I have to find those books. YAY! That brass wick cutter sounds like it was a really exciting find. I had a pin I found in a house that I was moving into that turned out to be off a military uniform from a soldier that participated in the Manhattan project. I was going to sell it but the dude I was seeing stole it, then I just gave him away. Ever since then I look twice at every coin I pick up because I thought that was a dime when I first found it.I'm a dork like that.

How fun and you can use the collection too. I have a few but the ones I use the most are made by a friend of mine. I like LV's but I can't afford them. I am planning to make one out of glow in the dark fabric in about a month. Thank you for posting and enjoy your bags. It is good to have something that brings you joy and it is obvious for you it is your bags.
