Rereading books

I read books over and over again if I love it. For example, I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark/Dream Hunter's series and read them many times. I find that each time I read them I find something new in them. Something that didn't click the first or second time I read them. Do you read books more then once? If so, do you find things in them that you didn't notice the previous time?

I don't usually get a chance to reread any of the books that I have read because there are so many more that I want to read. Instead if I want to experience the books again I will try to get an audio book if available. The only time I usually want to reread or listen to a book that I have read before is if the books if part of a series and I have forgotten what happened and need to go back to catch up.

Hi. Thanks for commenting. Most books I read are parts of series that I love. It helps that I usually have the complete set at home or my sister or mom has it. :) I love audio books. Thanks and Happy myLotting!!!

I read in my free times but not so much. Up to now, I haven't read any book twice. I think it would be boring. But after reading your post, I decided to try it some day. Happy MyLotting

Hi. Thanks for commenting. The books I find boring, well they go into the pile to be donated to the local library or bookstore. :) It's hard because I tend to stick to authors I know and love to read. :) Thank you again. Happy myLotting!!!

There are some books that are worth rereading. I am always disapointed when I like a book and them see the movie. Once you get past the title it seems that nothiing is the same.

Hi thanks for commenting. I totally agree that some books are worth rereading. Also agree with you on when they become movies. Sometimes they do a good job but most times not. For example: I love the Twlight series and am excited about the movies. I like the first movie but thought that it could have been better. Hopefully the second one is better. :) Happy myLotting!!!

Hi LeavaoDe, I read and read many books many times. There are some books which I read periodically every now and then. I too have always found something new in a book when I read it the second time or when I read it more than once. I read all my books definitely more than once, in fact many times...I do it with the magazines that I buy too..

Hi. Thanks for commenting. It's great to know there are others that read books more than once. Another reason that I read books again and again...besides loving them to begin with, is that I want to refresh myself on the book before the next one in the series comes out. Happy myLotting!

I reread books if I really like them. Or if I'm bored, and don't have anything new to read. Yes, I usually find things I didn't notice the first time, because I read fast and I usually miss some of the details.

Hi. thanks for commenting. I always have a book that I have already read with me when I am on the road. This helps when there are wait times...such as doctor's appointment, etc. I too read fast at times and will miss details that would make things easier to understand. Happy myLotting!!!

I love rereading books. There is always something new that I discover when going through a book for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th time :) I have read Pride and Prejudice dozens of times and I still love it. I try to reread the Amelia Peabody series and the Harry Potter series once every few years as well. I think that it is important to reread books because your interpretation can change each time that you pick up the book.

Love the Harry Potter series and have that read that series numerous of times. Actually planning on reading the last book again. :) Happy myLotting!!!

I don't normally reread books since it takes me so long to read. But with audiobooks I will. Often I will read something on audio that I had read in the past on paperback. Then I'll notice how much I missed. So now I pretty much exclusively read on audio. I just finished rereading My Sisters Keeper in preparation for going to see the movie on Friday.

Hi. Thanks for commenting. I just got into audiobooks. I have started to do the same thing with audiobooks. Love just turning it on and letting someone else do the reading. Happy myLotting!!

I don't usually go through a book more than once. But if i can't get it in my first trial then i go through it again and again until i get it. If you are asking that if i get it at once then i will never go through it again because it will consume some time and life is short and i don't want to spend some time on the same thing again and again. It depends on mentality of the person that he likes it or not to go through the same thing again and again.

thank you for commenting. i can understand what you are saying. I am an avid reader so to re-read a book is no problem for me. I have to love a book to actually re-read it. happy myLotting!!!

i never read books twice unless i have to for school! i probably would get more out of books, and remember them better, if i would do that. i just get bored when i read things that i have already read before and i vaguely remember them. i get that same feeling as when i'm watching a rerun on tv. plus, i have so many books i haven't read yet that i'm more interested in reading first.

Hi. Thanks for commenting. For me the re-reading of a book is so much better than a rerun on tv. If I am watching reruns on tv but get bored I change the channel. lol. I should do that with the books that I have that haven't been read but I only like certain types of books so I don't want to. :) Happy myLotting!!
