Hi. I am half Samoan (polynesian) and half caucasian. My hair is very think and very wavy that are sometimes curls. My problem is that I love having my hair straight. The one product that I love is the Chi Treatment. So far this is the only treatment that works on me. Go to bed with straight hair and wake up with straight hair. Get my hair wet and when it drys it's still straight. It works wonders on my type of hair but it's so expensive and no where near where I live has it. They look at me funny when I ask if they do it. I have used straighteners (flat irons) and still use occasionally but hate that it damages my hair. The newest addition to my collect to get my hair straight is the In-Styler. It is great too but my hair is so long that it takes forever. Do you straighten your hair? What do you find is the best way to do it? Thank you!

IS that avaialbe in the USA? SOunds interesting. When I want flat hair... back in "my day"... we ironed our hair with a clothes iron between 2 sheets of wax paper on th ironing board!!! Now, I use a flat iron... with ceramic plates. Works great anda flat iron is under $25 for a good one. My hair is wavey and a bit frizzy after I wash and dry, so it needs calmed down... a flat iron works great or I have a hot air brush, that also works good - flat but makes a little bit of bounce too.

Hi. thanks for commenting. I accept that this is the type of hair I have but I love having straight hair. It's funny because a lot of people I know with straight hair want my hair and I want theirs. There is no changing that this is what I was given through my genes. Happy myLotting!!!

Yes I do every day actually, my hair is wavy but not to bad.. I simply wash it and blow dry it and use a hair straighter on my hair, there are products you can buy so your hair don't get ruined while straighten it.. The back of my head is hard but I also make sure when I blow dry it I dry it downwards or flip my hair over to dry it.. hope this helps and very inexpensive and will save you lots than having treatments to keep it straight!

I have curly wurly hair and whenever I visit the salon, they will comment on how curly my hair is. Very often, they themselves do not know how to style the hair in the best manner with my curly hair. I straightened my hair at the salon a month ago. My hair is short and I intend to grow it longer. But I'm often in a dilemma to cut it short when my hair gets unruly from the curls. But now that my hair is straighter, growing my hair longer would be much more manageable. But I can already see that some of my hair is outgrowing the straightened hair and beginning to curl. At the salon, they will do treatment for you to prevent damage. I don't use flat irons and thgs like that. I personally have never heard of the Chi Treatment though. How different is it from the normal rebonding or straightening?

Hi. thanks for commenting. My hair is to the middle of my back and I get those comments too. I have tried to get my hair straighten at a salon but most salons haven't worked on my type of hair before so they don't know what to do. So my struggles to straight it continue. Chi Treatment (Very popular in Japan...so I am told). The first time I got it I was told that its healthier for your hair then chemical treatments. They are able to retouch just the roots when it grows out. Depending on how fast your hair grows the treatment can last up to 6 to 8 months. Mine lasted for 8 months before I had to have it retouched. It's such a great product but sadly all I ever see is the hair products (conditioners, etc) in the area I live in. I have decided that if I can't find somewhere local that I will have to wait until I go back to Hawaii and Fantastic Sams do it for me. The Chi Treatment is available elsewhere but the problem is find a salon that does it. :)
