This is for all my Canadian friends, and those who love Canada. Today is Canada Day, July 1st 2009, Canada's 142nd birthday. And now our National Anthem
O Canada
Our home in native land
True patriot love
In all thy sons command
With glowing hearts we see the rise, the true north strong and free
From far and wide, O Canada we stand on guard for thee
God keep our land glorious and free
O Canada we stand on guard for thee
O Canada we stand on guard for thee
Some in Canada substitute "in all thy sons command" for
In all of us command
In all our lives command
In all our hearts command
Since not all the children born in Canada, are infact sons, or male children. All lines work just fine and are accepted, when singing the national anthem.

Happy Canada Day!! I love your national anthem. It is easy to sing and it makes sense.I heard it enough when I had the NHL package that I started to learn it And sing along. And the music is so pretty. I hope you and hubby have a great day of celebrating.

I love hearing that Americans are learning our anthem, even from hockey. :) I'm not a sports fan, but the patriotic Canadian in me loves the anthems at the games. :)

The only time I can stand my national anthem is during the Olympics. If I am hearing it. we won gold!

Happy Friday! Hope you had a great holiday. Tomorrow is our Independence Day in the United States. We have a large lunch planned at church. It's an annual affair that we call God and Country Day. All the families come out and we grill burgers and dogs on the grill (This year we're having ribs too) and the ladies bring loads of potato salad, chips, desserts, cole slaw, drinks and bread. THere are blow up and water toys for the kids to play with. Just a lot of fun for the whole family and music from one of the local southern gospel groups at the end of the day. It lasts from noon until people start trickling home...usually about 4 p.m.
