it's really demeaning when someone told that i'm stupid. stupid in the way that i act like a child or i do wrong decisions even how simple it is.. i just feel more bad when "he" is telling me that whenever i feel down and uncomfortable to be myself.. i also call someone "stupid" at times and i never thought how bad am i when telling that to someone until i myself been called as one. just like a bad karma, a hard way to learn things.

Yes I have been told I was stupid, its funny because all my life, I knew I wasn't. My parents, especially my mother, made me feel confident in my intelligence and never ever made me feel stupid. But once I became an adult and the "man in my life" called me stupid, then I developed this insecurity that maybe I was deep down "stupid". Words can be the most dangerous weapon of all, physical wounds can heal quick, but emotional and mental wounds take years....I know what you feel because I too have called people "stupid" to their faces, and I feel bad about it now, I think its a horrible part of being human that makes us hurt others with words, its just a vicious cycle.

It is almost as bad as being sweared at when someone calls you stupid. As a child my mom did that to all of us though, we could never do anything completely right for her. She always found fault one way or another. She could never just say "oh you did a good job, thank you" So I learned at an early age how that feels. With raising my own children I made sure to give them compliments when they did something, tried to do their best at a project or something. Its the encouragement we give others that gives them that extra to go the extra to do better. The one thing though is you need to have faith in yourself. Even if someone calls you stupid you DO NOT have to accept that. Remember one thing, when someone is pointing at you and saying your stupid, look at the hand, look at the other fingers where they are pointing... might help you get through that a bit easier next time.
