We can live happily even in worst situations. Similarly there are people who live unhappily even in best conditions. What type of person are you? Are you happy with the present life? Are you having any serious problems now? If you can share with mylotters, you do please.

I agree with you in a sense. Life is all about how we perceive it. I think people who are constantly unhappy - do it to themselves. If they realized how lucky they were to be alive, I'm sure they would be happy. I'm semi-happy with my present life; I'm happy to be healthy and alive. The only serious problem I'm having is with school - for financial reasons. But I know I'll get it figured out.

Happiness and sadness are always there. It always balance our emotions. We are living in duality, when there is sweet there will be bitterness. We can only appreciate both if we both experience it. I am happy sometimes, for simple things I can be happy. If I will choose , I definitely choose to be happy. We will only live once on this Earth, why not be happy for the rest of our lives. It only make a difference when we are bombarded with problems, it is very hard to choose happiness in that way. We can only do is to act, find a solution , so we can be happy.

First I will answer your questions: What type of person are you? I try to be as optimistic as I can, there are things that made me sad or mad but over all I try to see the positive side of things, because if I can't change things it is because they only thing I can change is how I view them and how I react to them. Are you happy with the present life? I am happy with my present life, I do try to improve on things, but that's natural, there are things that I feel I can change or improve. Are you having any serious problems now? Serious problems no, I have some issues that I can change, and I have a couple if issues that I can't change, so I will not even considered them a problem but something that I must deal with. I feel you are right, life is what we make it to be.

Wow, what a wonderful question! Optimism starts with the acceptance of what you have and do not have, then moves on toward loving life no matter what you have or do not have. I realized this last year, and life has been gorgeous ever since! Why focus on the things in life you can't change...start rejoicing life as it is and change things for the better! I am happier than ever with my life...both past and present. In my past I've had so much happen to me that could have brought me down--at one point I actually tried to take my life--but everything that happened, both good and bad, brought me to the realization that life is life. It's hardly ever fair, it never goes perfectly--and that's beautiful! If life always was perfect, it would get boring and we would never want to learn anything new. Financially, my husband and I are just getting by. To most people that would be a serious issue...but it's great for us, because we have a set plan for the future and have no debt and no need for extra money. We have enough to put in savings, I have money in my retirement account, and my husband has a 401K with his work. With being newlyweds (I am 20 and he just turned 26), we don't view it as we don't have hardly any money...we view it as, wow, we're doing great for our age! People tend to make big deals out of nothing. Why complain about what you don't have? Be thankful for what you do! Be thankful for the things that make you individualistic rather than wishing you were different! Be thankful for life before you are ready to leave it and wish you had been. :)
