Figure 8 School Bus Races

This photo shows one bus that flipped over and got hit during the Figue 8 School Bus Race at the track last night. I had a blast and even ran into a family friend and her hubby and 4 of her 5 kids there ans sat with them. All told it was a blast even though I caught a slight cold from the dampness after a huge downpour prior to the races. Have you seen a school bus race of any sort, regular race or a figure 8 race? What did you do for the 4th of July?

Sorry to hear you have a slight cold but glad you had a good time and that you ran into others you knew and didn't end up alone. I have never seen bus races in person, just on TV. I have seen cars doing the figure 8 before.
Didn't do much for the 4th. We did watch the good race last night on TV.

Just before I left for the races we had a severe downpour for a good 20 minutes. This photo was taken about half way to the track. About 30 miles from my house. I followed the storm, or it followewd me the wqhole way. As I got there it was sunny, hot, and muggy. Within 30 minutes the rain came and came down hard, fast, but for about an hour. The races still started on time as they dried the track off for an hour instead of having qualifying. Turned out to be a good night. I've that race on DVR and gonna watch it later tonight. Don't spoil it by saying whom won. Hahahaha!

Friday it did rain in town here, we heard thunder but didn't see not even a drop of rain. My friend who lives in town said it rained hard just for a few minutes.
Oh I remember you said you had your DVR set to record the race and I was not going to say who won just in case you haven't seen it yet. All I will say is it was a wild ending.

Here's another photo from the figure 8 bus race. They all have the flashing lights on too. See the one with the front end missing? Awesome crashes with vehicles this large and heavy. Fun, fun, fun!

Never heard of school bus racing, but I don't keep up with racing at all either. Sure did look like fun!

Haha...I've never been to a school bus race before I've seen it on tv, but not in person, I'm not sure they have any in my area, never heard. They have a racetrack not far from my house and they race on Friday nights, its the mini cars, but we haven't been this year yet. I just spent time with family and friends and it seems like I ate all day..haha..I'm still stuffed..

I have quite a few tracks within driving distance actually. Anmything from Sprint cars, up to NASCAR Late Models. Dirt tracks, asphalt, pavement, and all types of crazy races like figure 8 Bus races at each and everyone throught the year. Well all but the winter. They have snowmobile races at a lot of places near me. But I don't sit in the cold for anything. Hahaha!

I ahve never seen buses but i have seen cars race, its call banger racing or stock car racing, many years ago.

What's a bit of a cold when you had a great time like that? Sleep late, soak up some rays, and I hope you'll feel good as new in no time. Glad you ran into friends. You would have had a great time either way, but there is a slight edge to having friends to share it with.
I bet a lot of kids in the audience got a real charge out of the school busses in that figure 8. Come the first day of school, more that a few will be wishing their bus had been one of them...lol.

I have never seen one of those races in person, but I saw a clip of one on television. It was featured in a show that is about amazing disasters where the person involved survived it. I don't watch those shows, but the clip of a bus going really fast caught my attention as I was flipping through the channels.

I love things like that. We used to go to a local place and they had demolition derbies and such there. It was fun to watch those.
I'm sorry you got sick though. That is terrible.
I have seen a school bus race one time at a local race track. It was neat to watch.
We worked the 4th of July and then cooked some burgers on the grill. that was about it.

Wow..Never seen a school bus race....actually I've never even heard of it...LOL..bet it was fun though...and watching it with your friends was a bonus too...
On the 4th we took my grandson's to the parade and then to the fireworks that night...the firework display was really awesome...
