is coffee good for our health??

i love coffee, so much.. i can't sleep without it. my day will not be complete without it. but my question is this, is it good or not?? bad for young ones??? please advice me.. thanks..

Dear janebeth, My day starts with a cup of coffee and that makes me feel good in the morning. There are some studies about the benefits of drinking coffee. In some studies, they found out that coffee is the number one source of antioxidants, an important compound that protects our body from disease. Antioxidants are our army to protect us from the toxic free radicals, which come from breathing oxygen and eating sugar, that start chronic diseases, says one chemistry professor. Antioxidants help stave off cancer, heart disease, diabetes and stroke, he added. For those who are excited about coffee as a source of antioxidants, one person recommends drinking one cup of coffee a day. But he added that caffeine raises our blood pressure, so if we are going to drink a lot of coffee, choose decaf. Decaf has the same antioxidant benefits as regular coffee. To end this, I advise you to take some precautions in drinking your coffee. As you are still young, you minimize your in-take to just two cups a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon or in the evening. Lastly, whenever you drinking you coffee, please take the spoon off the cup as they say, drinking coffee might get you blind.

neil, heheh, nice one. thanks a lot.. but u know i just drink coffee once a day lang tlaga. now i know there's a positive one and a negative one.. i will always remember that.!

Well I hear that coffee stunts growth, so if you're younger, and still have growing left to do..You probably shouldn't drink it. And I believe coffee is only good in moderation. It speeds up your heart rate, which can be both good and bad - depending on by how much and how often you drink it. And the caffeine in it temporarily boosts your metabolism - which is good for people trying to lose weight, but at the same time, caffeine has a lot of negative effects on your body, too. You should try to limit yourself to only one or two cups per day, at the very maximum.

Hi janebeth, Coffee is bad you young ones as there is caffine in it, it can cause hper in very young people and you can't sleep as it can keep you awake, I only have two cups of coffee a day and that is my lot, for the rest of the day I just drink water. Coffee is mainley bad for you as its got caffine ait its not good to drink too much of it. Tamara

i like to take coffee too,i take it 2x a day.being moderate is the safest way.it makes me awake especially in the morning.
