Is Obama Jealous Of The Media's Coverage Of Jackson's Funeral?

Obama which is use to wall to wall coverage of everything he does, from eating a burger to what can of dog is he going to choose. He has controlled the media headlines since he announced that he was going to run for President until now. When the death of Micheal Jackson the media's attention has turn to the Staple Center. Even at that ABC still had to ask him what he thought about the Jackson's death. Today driving to work I heard on ABC Radio a reporter asked Obama about the death of the pop star, and Obama fired back by saying that he hopes America will turn back their attention toward important issues like nuclear weapons after the funeral. Of course Obama is over in Russia right now, and needs the media spot light. Before anyone ask no I do not have a link.

Not surprised. Obama is not a very good politican. He comes across to me like he doesn't care about America. With other presidents, it seemed they were proud to be an American with Obama seems himself as more of a global citizen. Anyway, I think Obama acts like a celebrity and is used to the spotlight. I also think he's desappointed he can't play the race card to get attention. Michael Jackson was black, so Obama can't steer attention away by saying 'Look at me! Look at me ! I'm black."

The funny thing is if people stop talking about Obama Or MJ., you wouldn't have a disscussion LOL... this is silly. How about this I am sick of people bashing Obama, and I am tired of people bashing Michael. Michael Jackson was a music Icon. he has given this world something specail through his music and its his time to be recongized... as many people who talk about MJ, there are more out there who loves him...and it isn't Obama... its the MEDIA... why don't you ask the people who are airing this stuff why they are doing it... You know so many people judge and speak of things they don't know has anyone considered maybe the reason why Obama is getting so much media is because the world is getting to know who he is...?

I don't mean to be sarcastic, but shouldn't we have figured out who he was before he was elected leader of our country?

You will never truly know a person especially when some people & the media can be so bias because of race, creed, and etc. people make so many assuptions and reliculed the man before he entered the office. I for one didn't know the humane side of him... some people treat presidents as though they are so un-human because of the presidential status, maybe little footage of him and his family doing normal human things can give certian closed minded people another perspective of their president...

I would like to think that Obama can appreciate the achievement of Michael and be sensitive to the grieving process of fans and family .He should be appreciative of the fact that Michael nother son of the soil has reached the pinacle of his craft in a predominately white country .On the flip side though is that as presdent he has the right to his own opinion not like Michael .In addition Obama is under a lot of pressure ,so I guss this could be his way of bringing everyone back to bread and butter issues which in all fairness is more important

If he's not jealous, he should be. The world loves Michael more than Obama. Well, for now that's the case.

Nah, what's the reason to be jealous? If he wants media coverage, he'll just swat another fly or maybe a bee this time around? The whole world is giving way to MJ. Let him rest in peace. Big O will get his spotlight again real soon.

What's there to be jealous? Media focus on Michael is just an interlude or a commercial break for a 4 year season of 'Obama at Work'. That's about it. Believe me, there are more interludes to come after Michael's.

I was a fan of MJ and did watch some of the service online last night. I really feel for his family and children. However I admit the media is going overboard with it. But it is not very often we lose someone this big and we can see how it affects other people not just here in the US but all over the world. I think it is different today though. I mean now we have the internet spreading the news and covering the memorial service. Also I went to the gym yesterday and every station including some of the sports stations were showing coverage about the memorial or something about Michael. So in todays world it is hard to escape it...it is everywhere! Still considering what is going on with the world I do think the media needs to focus back on other news. I do hear them talk about these things but just briefly. Eventually it will lessen though. So I agree with Obama in that we need to focus on other issues though. Don't you think nuclear weapons are serious? I don't know about you, but they scare me. As for the being jealous, I don't think that is the case. He made a statement and maybe some see it as coming across uncaring, but what he said was true. I also believe he does care about America. I think he is just a very serious person. Think about it. He has a very important job to do. Many issues to address and work on. If he was sitting there laughing and smiling all the time and not talking about the issues, then some would say he is goofing off and not taking his job seriously. I don't think it matters to some what he does or says they will always find something to complain about.
