why are there males who grew longer nails?

i have known some men who are fond of having their nails longer. i thought only women prefer to have longer nails and get them painted.i don't like the idea of having anyone grew longer nails since it's quite hygienic somehow especially when one doesn't know when to take care of her/his nails. let's it hear it from you.

Hi flagella, some of the men here grow one very long fingernail on their little finger which looks a bit peculiar. I have asked the reason several times and have heard different answers. One reply was they grew it to show that they were of a higher class, another man told me it was so that he could pick the ear wax out of his ear easier. I personally believe it was the first answer, there was a time here when everyone toiled the fields and I think that the growth of the one nail signifies that they have moved on to that to what they now consider a higher profession such as joining the police. This is a habit though that I have only seen on men over fifty.

well the reasons are really that weird especially the one related to higher profession. i can't see the logic there. anyways,we can't really please everybody and it's their choice too.I hate long nails for me personally...I'm in water all the time, and there is no way they would stay on. Not to mention, I just always feel like I'd need to scrub them with a toothbrush to make sure they'd stay clean.also,it's a turn off for some girls. others personally find longer nails on some men to be kinda nice, they are great for back scratches and sensual teasing...but it has to be the right kind of guy...a businessman type with long fingernails would be weird, but on a hot slacker boy with long hair and a laid back attitude, no problem! some girls personally keep nails long and natural, men love a good back scratch...I've met a few men who had never had a woman give him a back scratch...I think that's a shame, it's a very loving and sensual gesture.

I don't like having long nails and I really really do not like it when guys grow their nails. Its looks so dirty, its not like they would actually get manicures. I have no idea why they would grow their nails long unless they think its easier to strum a guitar with long nails. I am a female and I prefer short nails because I don't have time to maintain long ones. I don't know how these guys intend to keep their nails clean

that's absolutely true. some girls are having a hard time to maintain the cleanliness of their nails how much for the boys who are used to having longer nails.it's a turn off too seeing guys with longer nails.i prefer short nails my whole life.

well my boyfriend once has a longer finger and feet nails... i cannot understand why but now he is having it way shorter. but he is always hygeinic about it. so it really doesnt bother me that much. as long as its clean.
some men do have longer nails for some reasons like for getting the bogger out of their noses... to clean their ears. but mostly men just have their pinkie fingers got longer nails.
they have different reasons but as long as they groom and clean it always. that is just fine, i guess...
