Are people who say that is not polite to take the bill and look, to see for what you pay, or how much? to see if you pay a correct tips too. I will say that i read the bill, even is not polite, because few times, i pay for what i don t eat, and i don t trust any more in what they write there. How much tip you will give? depend if you like how they served you, or you just pay 10% from bills? i know that is different country to country. We here we pay tips if we like how they serve us, is not a procent, but usual, is 10,15 from bills value.

Hello, I will read everything before I pay... Of course I have to read the bill because they will keep charging you if you dont pay attention. Last time, this restaurant charged me extra shrimp and it costs like over $15. I asked what is that? and the waiter said I ordered it. I said, alright which plate is the shrimp one? he started to hummmm.... hummmmm.... and then the bill changed. Another thing when I go to fast food restaurant and it is really busy then I will pay separately on food and drink, otherwise they will keep charging u without knowing which is which. of course the manager always teach them how to charge extra whenever you buy a lot... YES, it is true and especially at chinese place because my friends told me about it.

I will look at the bill.. I do not trust people's math anymore.. They have to rely on a calculator, and not their brains to do simple math.. I tip at least a dollar person that is sitting at the table... Unless my 3 year old son makes a mess, after cleaning up what I can, I will leave a bigger tip.. But if the service really stinks.. Coffee cup empty for 5 minutes when not busy, or flat our ignoring my table.. I will leave 2 cents.. Nothing more nothing less.. This tells them that I did not forget to tip, but your service really sucked.. And depending on the service or lack of I will talk to a manager.. I remember one time I was with my aunt at a restaurant.. I will be nice and not say the name of it.. I ordered something.. can not remember what it was... but she order a cheese omelet.. She specifically asked if it could only have cheese on it.. the waiter said ok.. The food came...Her omelet had ham on it.. She can not eat ham because of her diet.. She kindly asked the waiter about it.. He started yelling at her.. My food was there.. at first I was not willing to eat.. but she told me.. silly your pregnant you have to eat.. I was starting to get dizzy.. but anyways, the waiter was suppose to bring back another omelet for her.. but never did... We left the 2 cents.. At the register, she asked to speak to a supervisor.. He also decided that it would be ok to yell at my aunt... Major no no!!! That old saying the customer is always right.. well in most cases.. Anyways.. My aunt went home and wrote an email to the corporation... Needless to say those two lost their jobs.. and that was a hang out spot for the local college, until word got around campus.. They lost a lot of business... No one from that college would eat there, even through it was so close, and always open..

oh yes... i will and always check my bill everytime before i pay... because there are many times already that the cashier makes mistakes and charged me for something that i don't eat or buy... and i don't want to waste my money paying for something unnecessary... as for the tips, it really depends on whether i am satisfied with the service or not... take care and have a nice day...

Usually, I read the bill before I pay it out. I have some problems in a restaurant in Thailand before so better be sure next time. I don't want to pay for something that me and my family didn't eat. I give 10% tip of the bill especially if I am happy with the service and there is no service charge on the bill, if it has I don't give a tip anymore.

I checked the bills before paying. Its just that sometimes they manage to charge us with something we didn't order. But typically when the bill is given my mom checks it right away even if I'm the one who is going to pay lol.

I definitely check on the bill when I get it because I want to make sure that I am only paying for the food and drinks I have ordered. There are times that they are incompetent to remove orders you either changed or have canceled. Another reason to why I check the bill is because I want to see if there is a service charge or not. If there is, I won't leave any tip anymore but if there is none and the waiter is good then thats the time I leave something for them.

I normally do not read the bill but there are times that I have and that is when the amount sounds to high for what we had. I woud tip if the person that was serving us was nice but when they are not and they treat me or someone that is eating with me in a bad way there is no way they are getting a tip. There are also some restaurants that charge the tip to the amount even if we do not whant to give a tip. There are times that I get upset because they really did not deserve the tip but I guess is how the restaurant works or I don't know if it matters on the amount of people that are at the table.

When I pay the bill, I dont usually look at what I'm paying for. I just pay and not even count the changes they return to me. My husband complains that I am just too careless with money. So whenever possible, he'll make sure he pays. We dont really give out tips here in my country as it is all in the bill already.

my hubby always checks the bill to make sure we are not being overcharged. this way it is better because you see where you money went and how much each item was. i also do this to see how much i should be paying the waitress for a tip.

Since they are my family, so I won't feel embarrassed to check the bill if we have a meal together. I don't want to pay extra due to the mistake. So I will look at the bill carefully. But here we don't have to pay for the tips. As the restaurant already charges us some fee besides the dishes. I lov eChina

I always check because many times the waiter makes mistakes. Plus I want to make sure how much to tip and that depends on the service, how good the food was and how well things were taken care of and how nice the waiter was. If the food was not good, service to slow or the waiter was not friendly the tip will be low if not at all. Here the tipping charges is usually 15 to 20 percent.

For me I don't bother what others think and say. It is important to have a LOOK on the bills before paying. Moreover they might have mistake some times. I just want to ensure I do not pay any extra, that is ME .. about the tips, is fix in all the restaurant here...

I always check the bill, just because once a friend and I went out to eat, and when we got the check is was $65! We only had burgers and drinks. However, I also used to be a server, so unless I get REALLY crappy service, I always tip at least 10%, I know how hard these people work, and how many rude people they deal with in a day. If I get great service, I will tip up to 25%. I'm not a rich person by any means, but a lot of these people (Thanks to the Clinton Admin), only make $2.15 and hour plus tips. They are on their feet all day, and put up with picky, rude, ungrateful people. We should admire the job that they do. I remember I had a family once that ordered over $100 worth of food and drinks, I could hardly deal with any other tables because we offered free refills and they would have their drinks gone in less than a minute and would be yelling at me for more drinks. They let their kids throw food all over the floor and on the other patrons, it was a big horrible mess, and they left me a few dollars and some change. I was so upset because I had been really nice to them and the kids, even gave them free cookies. So, remember, servers have to make a living too!
