Why do you think you must have another cellphones again?nowadays people are even more have than just two, i know a friend that has 5 cellphones for himself, and when i'm asking it did he use them all, he said yes, i use them all, i'm just wondering what is his purpose to have that much cellphones, but i don't ask him much further about it Do you have two or even more? why did you think you must have its?

hi maximilian!^^ i have two cellphones. there are two major networks here in our country and they both have promos of unlimited texting and calling but with the same network. like for example, if my number is Smart (network), the unlimited promo only applies if i call or text Smart numbers. and not all my friends have Smart numbers. so i had to have another number on the other network so i can text and call my other friends. but it came to a point that i got tired of everyday texting and now, i'm only using my main cellphone and i use my other cellphone as my alarm clock.^^;; still, my friends can text me thru that other number and i just reply with my main cellphone. i still can't throw away my other cellphone even if i don't bring it along with me everyday.

well, it was a cellphone given to my mother and my mom gave it to me. a relative living in the united states gave her the cellphone when she went there for a vacation. i don't have the heart to throw it away.

I only have one phone and I'm content with that. I guess others would have multiple phones due to the networks that they all use. They have contacts using other networks so it seems convenient for them to use the same network with each respective contact. With all the promos that they could avail of unlimited calls or SMS sending to similar networks, I guess that's why they have multiple phones. Then again, there are phones that can hold two SIM cards at the same time but, I guess it would really be nicer to have different phones. Of course, I find it inconvenient and a hassle.. bringing too much, collectively heavy and risky too.

It is more organized that way. Say you have a phone that can have two SIM cards so it could accommodate two networks at the same time, hopefully, simultaneously since most phones like that have to be switched from one network to the other. I mean, say I got a message from a contact from network A and then I got another message from contact B who uses network B, I think you really have to set up the network settings whenever your going to send messages or make calls or you might use your first network to contact another network which would cost much. Anyway, most phones now-a-days could hold up to endless contacts and I guess dual SIM phones wouldn't be left behind with that kind of capability. None-the-less, segregation has more efficiency when it comes to being organized than fusing tools which might get complicating to those who are not familiar. Most people are more better off with individual items associated with specific uses. And.... You can display a variety of phones.. of course, without the intention of being boastful.. who am I kidding? One phone, one network. Simple enough.

yaa i guess, and think most people uses multiple phones due to the networks they have, but why did you think you find it is more nicer to have different phones rather than single that can have two sims on it since you said that it's inconvenient and hassle bringing too much of it

It depends from person to person. For some people it will be a necessity as he will want a separate phone for work and a separate phone for friends and family. For some people they may just want to show that they have got two phones and they are very rich.It not worth to buy more than one cellphone as one phone performs all the functions.

Wow. I only have one cell phone, it is a prepaid and sometimes if feels like a luxury, and others I can see why I need it. But more than two? No, I know of people who's work place gave them a cell phone and they prefer to have their own cell phone to make their personal phone calls, I am not one of those persons. I do not understand why a person would have 5? Must be confusing.

Having two cellphones, is not a style, but a necessary one. As far as I am concerned I carry a CDMA network phone for my official work and calls and a GSM for all my personal use. One time I had three phones, which I reduced to two by going in for a double sim phone.
• India
19 Jul 09
Well I carried a third phone some time back, because in some areas both the networks which I had in my other two phones were not available and only the state owned BSNL was having a complete coverage in my state. Since I was a travelling person, the roaming charges were less in the private players, while the state one was costly. This was the reason, why I carried three phones, but now things have changed and everybody is fighting for the slice of the cake, so the rates have touched rock bottom, and I feel in future, they might even start giving air time free.

umm ... i see ... a lot of people thinks it's a necessary to have two nowadays, for work and for personal use .. ow by the way, why did you have three before?

I can't see why anyone would want to have more than one. I have enough trouble keeping up with my one. I could maybe see keeping an extra emergency one in the glove compartment or something. My phone often gets turned on from moving around in my purse and then when I go to use it, it has no power, and that has been bad a couple of times because I really, really needed to make calls at those times. But I really can not see carrying around more than one, that just seems really silly to me.

waw ... isn't there any keypad lock or any automatic keypad lock from the cellphones ability to prevent us like your case? like you read from other mylotter write, they pretty lot of more than one cellphones nowadays, one of the reason is they have alot of contact phonebook, so one wouldn't enough for them

Not necessary for me. if you want to have 2 numbers, you can buy a phone with dual sim but if you want to have them both active all day, well yeah 2 phones is needed. But when we say, for normal cell phone use, it’s okay to just have one and buy another SIM card and have a dual phone.
• Indonesia
16 Jul 09
there is a cellphones with dual sim card on nowadays but there is no cellphones with thousands in contact phonebook, i guess it is one of the reason for some people why they need more than one cellphones

I don't think there is an necessary to have more than one cellphone. Those who have many connection with many people they can have more than one cellphone.Doctors, lawyers like busy professionals can use two or more cell phones. But for fashion purpose to use more than one cellphone is misuse of money.
• Indonesia
16 Jul 09
when talking about fashion, it is all connected with money wasteful you are right, maybe some of people have more than one cell phones because of their thousand of contact phonebook they have

Yes, I have like two cellphones but I don't take them anywhere both with me, just keep one at home, so that I could have a back up if I lost one. Its not just about style but many business people keep more more than even two cellphones so that they don't want to give their numerous clients the same contact number or like giving different sets of people different number to contact. I too have many friends who use more than two cellphones but they use it for styling around. It depends on the kind of person using them!!
• Indonesia
16 Jul 09
ooww i see ... so it's more as a backup for you, naah finally ... it looks there some people who use it for styling like i thought yep you are right, it depends on the person i agree

I think having 2 cell phones is a joke. who truly needs 2 cell phones for ANYTHING. it is a waste of money in my opinion. even if you need one for work and one for personal, I mean have them reimburse you for using your personal. Because how often do I use a cell phone for work. harldy ever.
• Indonesia

jokes? mmm maybe they mean for work is for their business, but i think it depends on people, that's why made me think it's a style besides a necessary ... since in fact we can use one cellphones for both, but it seems that many people want to keep their number as privacy number, so i keep it as a necessary things, so that it is not for public publish that's why i'm asking about mylotters opinion here

i think one cellphone is all a person needs. i only have one cellphone and thats all i need. it is hard to know why he needs five cellphones maybe he have so many friends he needs them or does business on four of them and wants more than one number for his business and the other one is just for his friends to call him on.

yaa maybe he has 5, one for friends, one for business, one for family, one for reservation, or event, one for office, complete just my thought anyway hehe

I think its necessary. I do have two phones but only one sim card. Here in our country, there are a lot of snatchers who loves to get cellphone. So we must bring an old one so as not to attract robbers.

I used to have two cellphones, one for my personal use and the other for my business. I am still using two cellphone numbers right now but I am using just one cellphone--a dual sim phone. I am using two numbers because with my other number, I can make unlimited calls to my family and friends, which is more cheaper especially for sending international sms to my boyfriend working overseas. My bf knows my two cellphone numbers, I am not cheating and I am not hiding anything from him. Unlike with other men, they hace 2-3 cellphone numbers because they are cheating on their gf or wife.

it's more simple right using one cellphones rather than two? waw ... maybe .. but my hons has two either, and one is from me, and he has a difficulty either to use both of it, so sometimes he left one of it at my house

I have one cell phone at this point and time. My dad has 2 cell phones. He's one of the VPs for a company and one is his work cell phone and the other one is for personal use because my mom doesn't want to pay the cacelation fee for his cell phone...but when she renews the cell phones he won't be on our plan and then he'll just use the work cell phone.

I can't see the point in having 5 cellphones, but I can see the point of having two. One for work and one for leisure and evening times. That way, whichever one rings, I will know if it is for work or a friend calling. - Derek

I only have one cell phone but having more than one is not always just a style. Some persons have more than one so they can benefit from specials offered by various service providers. One may offer a great deal on calls to a country where they have loved ones while the other offers a better deal on local calls.

Well, it is not at all necessary to have two cell phones; however it depends on the need. It's a pain for me to use a single cell phone and I can never think of using two of them...carrying them all the time is also a pain. These days the craze is more about using a dual SIM mobile phone with two numbers in a single handset. One number for personal use and another for official!!!!

pain? you mean fussing you? yaa ... one is more simply than two

I think having two cell phones is partially necessary. It's important to me to have a back up phone in case something happens to my current phone. I don't have a spare at the moment, but I am in the market for one. I'm having problems out of my current phone and I want to find another one just in case this one doesn't want to work at some point! Other than for that reason, I don't think it's necessary to have two or more phones.
• Indonesia
16 Jul 09
a lot of people nowadays look it as a necessary things ... but you have your own reason how to use it as a backphone for the primary phone, which is nice reason when one couldn't work properly
