I came across this story this morning about a Halifax singer/songwriter whose guitar, his $3500 guitar, was damaged after traveling United Airlines. The airline refused to accept responsibility, and after nine months of the runaround, he promised the last person who said no that he would write three songs about the situation. The first one can be heard at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGc4zOqozo It's in a humorous vein, and actually quite a catchy tune. Song #2 has been written and the video is in production. I can hardly wait.

I also saw this on the news and I'm with you I thought the tune was rather catchy. I wish all men could think like this fellow did.

Can you imagine? Instead of pistols at dawn, it'd be guitars at noon.

I saw this on the news last night. It was a smart thing for him to do since he was getting nowhere with the airlines... better than advising the media actually. This will also help his singing career. And the song/video has worked so we'll probably see a lot more of this stuff on YouTube. This guy had every right to seek compensation from the airline. They would have refused the singers to take their equipment into the plane with them insisting they put it through luggage claim. With the exhorbitant airline rates and all their additional fees, the least they could do is handle our luggage with care.

Just after I posted this, the radio guy started playing it and talking about it.
