I am livid at this precise moment and if anyone can give me advise here after you have read this, it will be very much appreciated as I am not accepting what has happened My SIL went to see my Children yesterday for the weekend, also my Niece went, they have not seen each other for 10 years, I was happy that they where getting together Well last Night they all went out including one of Mike's Friends, Later on in the Night some guy said something nasty to my Niece, so Mike told him to lay of her, this Guy started mouthing at Mike, so Mike told him if he was going to mouth of to get outside, the Guy hit him, so Mike not taking that, took him outside, the Guy hit him again, so Mike saw red and hit him back, Mike's Friend and my Daughter Mel tried to stop the Fight, my Niece was also involved but my Ex SIL pulled her into a Taxi, and then went to try and stop the Fight, the Fight had already stopped, as the Police who is always all over in town was there, one of them hurt my Son, my Daughter swore at the Officer, Mike told her to leave it, he was ok, as Mel went to get in the Taxi, a Woman Police officer told her she was arrested, Mel asked what for, she replied for swearing at a Police Officer, Mike told me they hurtled him in the Van, nearly broke his arm, they slammed his Friends head against the Van several times, then threw him in the Van, then they threw Mel in the Van, Mike had to hold her as she was crying and very scared When they got to the Station, my Son was bruised bad, my Daughter has swollen and bruised wrists, also a swollen Thumb where the other Guy had bit her, the other Guy by the way got away with it, as his Girlfriend pretended to be someone who does not know them, and told the Police that she was sober and a Teacher, she saw everything, that the other lad did nothing, and guess what, the Coppers believed her They kept them in over night My Daughter went through 8 hours of h*ll, as they would not put her in the same Cell as my Son and his Friend, she has not slept, she is bruised badly and has to work at 3pm My Son is badly bruised from where they have hit him, and was told that no one would believe my Son if he told what happened as the Police would deny doing any of it I am fuming, I am upset, my Children are not trouble makers, my Son was protecting his Cousin, this Guy hit my Son and got away with it, I am so angry and I will not let this lie I will take this further My Son got the Address for the CCTV footage, so he is going to write of to get a copy and once he has that Doncaster Police beware, you do not mess or hurt my Children like this and I mean that, I will set everything rolling to take this further if I would have known last Night I would have done the 3 hour Journey and I would have had them, I would have had the CCTV there and then, I don't care what it would have done to me, I would have got those B*st*rds, I still will My SIL did not phone me because both Kids asked her not to as they both know I would have gone up there last Night Any advise would be appreciated This is what the UK pays Council Tax for, the Coppers to play big Men and do as they want and convict the wrong People, what made it worse is, the other Guy was smiling at them as he walked away Well my Son is livid and I hope that this Guy will never cross my Son's Path What hurt him most was hearing his Sister cry all Night and the Coppers not letting her in the same cell with him

How horrible and how can they just arrest one party and not even take in the next party for explanation. Go for them Gabs, I am feeling very much outraged, Once my brother also was arrested briefly but thankfully not hurt and because of no fault of theirs. There were six of them just singing and having nice time, no boozing just being happy as their MCA exams were over and all of them were going home. One constable took offense for no reason probably they were so happy that day. He spoke something rude to them and when they retorted he further abused them and at next stop called his colleagues and had them all arrested. Even other passengers protested. He placed a call to us so we called up a very senior police officer who was friend of my husband and after one night they were all released. He still says that its a real shaky experience when you have done nothing wrong and someone who is there to protect you takes advantage of his position.

this is my preciation of your writing so long that i could not read quickly at once, i spent about the ten minutes to read your post, i do admire your patient to write so long post to describle your mood and your experience to things, this is a lot of the blackground of the your countrys' local languages, i could not understand thorough completely your meanings, you just know about the fame meaning about the happened things that you had experience, the police as we known well, the people get the good impression of dealing with the trouble thing that had happened in the society, but as you known that not all of the policeman can solve and deal with the troubles between the poeple.it is depending on the dividual policeman, the other reason is the thing that is very complicated for the happening, the degree of difficulty to solve this problem is very high for them to discrimme the correct or wrong, perhapps the thing is not wrong or right, the left thing is to tolerate such this thing each other between of the conflicting people, you known, as being the harmonely society, the every in this communities is very important to maintain this good atmospheres in here.

If you're too lazy to read - then don't bother replying. This reply has nothing to do with the what is being discussed here.

Kind of tough on what to say on this one, being that the situation took place in an entirely different place from where I am - with its own laws & such. In the United States, you can sue the police precient, & even the city that pays their salaries, in this case Doncaster. In this case, they would probably have to sue for: * police brutality (get pictures of those bruises as soon as you can for evidence) * false arrest

Oh Gabs what is happening with you…I mean its one thing after another and just when things look like OK, you are again ruffled over something which you just cannot ignore (obviously so!)…while I reserve my comments about city policing (they seem the same bunch of incompetent jokers everywhere) I am really surprised as to how they let off the other guy…usually the police just herd the entire bunch like cattle and carry them off! Are you sure this other guy is not connected or something? What exactly are you thinking of doing once you get the CCTV footage? Have you consulted any professionals on your next course of action? Professionals are typical blood suckers (as my experience goes)…are there any neutral forum where you can take this up?

I don't know if he is connected, but it was obvious who threw the Punches as my Son has a split lip, my Daughter has a Thumb where the other Guy bit her when she tried to get him of my Son, my Son's Friend was holding my Son back as he was going to hit the Guy There was not a scratch on the Guy as both my Daughter and Son's Friend held my Son back and they BELIEVED that my Son threw the first punch where there was not a mark on him, he left the Scene laughing, while my Children and my Son's Friend where being mishandled by the Police The Footage will proof who threw the first punch and how the Police handled the 3 of them I am so angry and it has proved what I have said for a while, you can not trust the Police Force If my Children where trouble Makers ok fair do but they are not all they want to do is go out and enjoy a night out, when my SIL went to tell the Police the truth, they asked her if she wanted to be arrested to, they where not listening to anyone My Children are that sore, they can hardly Move I will get justice somehow for this, and yes one thing will be going Public

That was a sad ending to what should've been a happy reunion. Anyway, first thing, you should all calm down... put in writing (or typed) the events that occurred, line by line and include times if possible. Contact your nearest CAB (Citizen's Advice Bureau) and arrange to meet for legal advice regarding making a complaint against the Police. Their legal advisers will be able to best assist you with this matter. This link should be a good starting point: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/your_rights/legal_system/police_powers.htm#Complaints Since the female teacher gave her account as a witness, as a teacher she's a professional whose statement took precedence at the time. Although Mike acted with chivalry but taking the fight outside, a fight is still a fight in the law's eyes. Just remember to stay calm and not raise voices.

OMG Gabs! That is unbelievable! It sounds like what happens right here in NY! I swear that is the same stuff that happens all over New York State! Not just New York City, but even in Westchester County where I live! There are so many corrupt police officers doing the same things right here too! And they get away with it! They are so abusive! There have been cases that were even caught on video and the police officers got away with abuse! I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your children! I know that there is no way that they deserved what happened to them and I hope that there is some way that these officers will pay, but honestly Gabs, be careful because most of the police are corrupt apparently all over the WORLD and they stick together so don't get yourself all upset because chances are they will LIE about everything anyway and you don't need to get sick over this! I am telling you that this is the way it is here in the United States too and it is really disgusting! No one seems to be able to win against them!

I know Opal, I have already pulled in inquiries and it would cost me a Fortune but I will write to Chief Police there once I have the CCTV Footage I am just so disgusted how all this happened and why the Person who hit my Son and gave him a split lip got away with it and he was laughing as he got in the Taxi The Kids are bruised and battered and hurting It only proves you can not trust the Police at all

The person who started the fight is probably either a known trouble maker, in which case the police can't be bothered, or a friend of a policeman, in which case they will turn a blind eye. This is happening too often nowadays and it seems the police only deal with the innocent people and forget to catch thieves and louts. Get the CCTV footage as soon as you can and write to the Chief Constable with your complaint, making sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING for your own records. I'm afraid there is nothing anyone could do as regards putting your son and daughter together as it is policy to keep male and female seperated. Follow this complaint all the way and make sure your son, daughter and anyone else injured by the police, take photographs of the bruising. Take care, gabs. I hope this works out well for your children.

Hi Gabs, That is really disgusting, I think they should have had this guy in the cell a well, I really hate it when the police always gets the wrong people and grill them when the culprit just walk away, this is the reason why this country is like it is, yes get the CCTV and sue them, I hope is all on the camera, good luck. Love and hugs. Tamara
