I am in my intership now, and I think from the intership, I do not learn very much about the knowledge, but rather, I know what kind of life it will be after my graduation. Previously, I think it too ideal, and now, the intership teaches me to be more realistic. I know not everything is so good, the society is very complex indeed.

Internship is important because it teaches you a set of skills you can use in everyday life. Skills are just as important as knowledge, and for some people can be more important. You also learn a lot of social interaction skills from internships so they can be quite important.

I learn a lot from my internship. Maybe because I got the chance to do internship at a training company. It is so fun to do things with my officemate. I even got the chance to handle training programs. I learn a lot the life skills. I'm enjoy the internship there. Now I'm still at this company doing internship. :)

When I had my internship, I was able to somewhat learn to boost my confidence in dealing with different types of people. During internship, our role as an intern is to make use of all the knowledge and skills you learned when you were still in school and be able to put into use in the corporate world. You would be part of the team and you may be allowed to generate ideas and share it to the bigger circle. Though you may just be a shadow of the others, but there is a greater chance for you to recognize by your performance during your internship. I guess internship is a big learning experience, because it serves as a bridge for you to explore beyond your horizons and allows you to picture out of what is to come.

Internships are more about gaining experience in whatever field you are in, rather than gaining actual working knowledge, if only because you are only an intern, most companies don't give interns a lot of responsibility. I am actually looking for an internship because I want to find out about how it is to work in a field I'm interested in - I know I won't learn much specific knowledge, but at least I can observe the professional environment and how I could expect things to be.

When I was in school studying and getting ready for internship, the school administrator will choose on what institutions we are going to. I am not sure for you, if you are going to choose. Given that you are the one, the most important is to have an ojt with companies that can provide better opportunities that will really appropriate for your profession.

Yup, some points I agree with you. In my opinion, the technique or knowledge may not be as much as what we learn in school. Of course, things may be different if you go for research internship. Internship can be a process for transition between school and workplace environment.
