"But when you ask Him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver , for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind . . . Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do" (James 1:6, 8 NLT). Written in another James is saying, "But when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is driven and blown about by the wind. If you are like that, unable to make up your mind and undecided in all you do, you must not think that you will receive anything from the Lord" (James 1:6-7 TEV). Wow! this is good! We have to exercise our faith and our faith is an on going thing. This is a continuing action, FAITH! It is doing and having FAITH continually! Please share your input along with this too. God bless you!

To me it means that the Christian life is a life of growth. None of us has "arrived," none of us has already become all that God means for us to become; every day we are to be conformed a little more to the image of Christ.

Great comment, Clutterbug! Each we are growing and maturing in the Lord a little bit more and becoming more mature in believing what we ask because we are becoming more molded each day the way God wants us to be. Thanks for the comment and God bless you!

To me faith is the 'ground wire' that recieves the promis.. or another way to put it is the open pathway.. and if we waver or doubt, it's like puttin bouldrs in the way.. so here we are advised to have clear, solid and even bold faith.. as wavering and doubting delays the outcome..
