When you receive a call what is your opening line? Or how would you receive a call? Do you introduce yourself first?
What is the proper way of receiving a call?

it all depends on where and how i receive the call:
- if it is at the office (office phone) - then the 'proper way' would be to say greetings like 'Good morning' or 'Good Afternoon' followed by the name of the department..
- if it is on my mobile-phone and i know the caller - it really depends on who the caller is - if it is my boss, i would say "Yes, Boss..", if it is my children calling from home, i would say "What is it, dear?".. if it is my husband, i'd say "Yes, honey..".. so normally i would acknowledge the caller..
- if it is an unknown call, or if it a call on my landline(fixed line) - it would be the standard - "Hello!.."
