Someone who watches too much news, reads too much news, will be in a constant state of negativity? Because all they do is listen to bad news, bomb blasts, and influenza, that does affect the mind, doesn't it? aren't people aware of this? I admit news is important. but how much is enough?

I know more & more load on the brain is harmful but NEWS are not always bad ,My friend. Sometimes NEWS about our country's progress n different field make us feel proud. Also NEWS make us up-to-date,even if there are bad NEWS.

I agree. news builds the mind. but how much is enough. i'm talking about a person who is so obsessed about news, that even during eating, he watches news. I personally think that's damaging.

I find that watching the news is completely unnecessary. All it tends to be is bad news about things that I am unable to change. If I wanted to be depressed all day I'd walk around downtown and stare at homeless people. Ignorance is bliss, and watching the news all day is a good way to depress yourself.

but being aware of your surroundings and what's happening in the world is a characteristics of an aware adult. i'd feel kind of an airhead if someone talked about the current crisis and i didn't know what they were saying. news is important but just enough. not too much. ignorance is bliss but not in all cases. as a citizen of this world we need to think of ways to repair or solve problems that are happening. who knows you might be the next einstein. Now i'm defending the news-holics... lol. hmmm... i'm on the fence in this topic.
