What happens when you are 'addicted' to myLot?

Gosh, I've only been a myLotter for a fortnight and already I cant seem to go off. First, I was determine to get my first 100mark in order to get a silver star. Then once I have achieved that, I am so ever more determine to reach 200mark in order to get to use the emoticons in my responses. I am so near my 200 mark that I get all excited. I must admit I sign up in myLot for the earnings initially, but now, that doesnt matter too much already. All I want is to get to the next mark milestone, and the next, and the next. But I have also told myself, in order to get there, I must give out quality responses, not just a one liner to just fill in the gap. Quantity doesnt make any sense if there are no quality in it. Just like I like the responses to my discussions to be of quality value, that is how I am going to respond to other myLotter's discussion too. Now, my husband is calling me for the 100th time to shut down the PC and get to bed. What would you do if you are kind of 'addicted' to myLot? Do you tell your husband to come and forcefully switch off the PC for you as you are not able to do that yourself? LOL...

LOL... I can be MyLotting till I forget that my accounts are calling me... and sometimes, in order to complete my responses, I would even leave my girl "scream" for a while before I attend to her. My mum is wondering what have I been up to since I now stay up till 1am before heading to bed. My last straw will be when my girl "scream" till no voice.. and it's time to STOP!

Oh goodness cynthia! I'm so sorry to hear that! You daughter's been victimised by myLot! Previously, I had a rule that I'll never go online unless my boy is taking his nap or sleeping soundly at night. But now, since myLot, I try to sneak in some online time whilst he is playing on his own. Until he noticed I'm gone, he will come and find me and pester me to play with him again! Duh... all this for myLot!

Hi!I am a new member here.I am not so addictive as you though I also like loging in mylot, especial I find someone response to my discussion.I like creating discussions in mylot because I want to know more about other people's views upon the same problm. If I were in your situation,I would like to invite my husband to join mylot. If my husband also join mylot,we will have a more topic to talk about everyday and share the happiness joining mylot. If my husband unwilling to join,I will try to persuade him at first. If that dose not work and he really want me to quit,I think I will quit it.Because I do not that influences our relation.Well, different people have different attitude toward that situation.I ope you can work out the problem in the near future.

Hi sylvia, glad to hear that you are not addicted to myLot. I was addicted and now I can safely say that I am able to distance myself if I want to. Now, I'll log in myLot when no one is around. When my loved ones need me, I am able to log off. Happy myLotting!

If you are addicted to mylot then many things happen: 1. You are always on computer typing lengthy answers and result is stiff neck. 2. At least 10$ earning is sure every month. 3. You get too many solutions to any of your problem so that you can choose whatever you like. So my overall conclusion is that addiction to mylot is not a bad thing to happen.

Oh yes, If all those three were to happen to me on a frequent basis, it's not too bad after all, isnt it? It's better than to get addicted to some other social networking site that only emphasis on games, games and more games!

we are over that phase, fortunately . when i was just starting, my husband would sulk if i eat in front of the computer while myLotting. i was able to shake off the addiction by NOT visiting the site AT ALL for three, four months straight, which is REALLY hard for me but I know I have to take a break or else I'd be VERY addicted. now i'm just enjoying it, not really minding the numbers much now that I've somehow let go of that need to increase every statistic I have in here.

kayedanda, yes, it is more relaxing if we come in here for leisure instead of trying to top up that statistic. Just enjoy the flow and not be so tensed up. That is enjoying myLot!

Cool, I was with that attitude when I first started here. But as time goes by, I cannot think of more discussions to open, because you won't really earn if you're just duplicating others' discussion as well. Well anyway, for now, I just share my thoughts from my every day life. Good luck to you submerryn!

I think it is the circle of life of the myLotters. Newbies will always get addicted. Once they are over the 500 mark, they'll slowly realise there are other more important thing to do.

Let me share a similar experience with you. I've been playing Sims 3 for over a month, and each day I have never failed to spend at least 3 hours without getting out of my room on this game. It wasn't good for me; my wife goes to bed first, while I walk into the bedroom much later to see her snoozing away, or reading a book alone. It suddenly dawned upon me that I've to stop. Sims 3 is just a simulation game; it doesn't help me with my work, it's bad for my relationship. So I stopped playing it. MyLot is the same too. I've limited myself to responding to a few selected ones, create one or two new discussions, and stop there. I get a bit of money out of it, I learn something from the responses that people give. The bottom line is you MUST set a daily limit as to how many postings you want to make (or tasks/routines that you want to do). If you don't, you and your family will suffer eventually. I'm sure you wouldn't want that to happen, would u? That's my two cents' worth. Hope it helps a bit. Cheers!

kevchua, it's nice to have that kind of decipline. I wish I can have that self control over myLot too. But recently, I've learnt to control my urge towards myLot and now, I limit 2 hours at nite when my boy is asleep for myLot. Nothing more than that.

Hi friend, At first when i joined mylot,i also felt like you.Firstly i came to mylot site only to earn money. After getting the first payment i got full trust on mylot site, till then i am afraid that i won't be paid because i was scammed so many things by other site. When i got first payment than i got confident that they are some sites which pays us like mylot. After getting confidence i slowly started to make friends. Now i am totally addicted to mylot site which one communicate, enjoy and learn new things which are happening around the world sitting at one place. This is one type of online chatting.I am setting the targets per day and i am trying to reach it every day without interruption. In this way without my notice 2 years are over.I mostly enjoy in reading the discussion rather than responding or starting the discussion.Due to addiction of mylot site, i am spending less time with my family membersand spending lot of time in this site. Have a nice day

Oh no, that is not too nice rite? Spending less time with family members and more time on myLot? That is happening to me too. My husband is the victim at the moment as my boy knows how to cry to pull me back to him. My husband just keep quiet and watch tv. But if I let this continue, it will be drifting us apart. So now, I put an alarm next to me. Which I tell you, doesnt work!

I would love to tell you it will get better....but it WON'T!!! After the 500 mark it becomes easier to go to bed & get some sleep. Somewhere around the 1,000 mark you begin to run out of ideas & it becomes more of a struggle than total pleasure. Even with that, I find I sit here for hours on end just in case something comes up that I just can't miss!!!

Yes, I do wonder, until when will the ideas will keep on coming in. I mean, an idea every day or so is like, will eventually run to a writer's block someday.. sigh

haha that's funny :-p I am addicted to mylot too, since I am addicted to mylot, I always want to log in mylot and start posting, once I finish what I need to do in the morning for my husband like msaking breakfast and coffee and feeding my dog then I start mylotting. I don't feel alright if I don't log in and post something... :-p I don't log in at weekends though because I need to do stuff with my hubby, that slows down my earnings a lot but it's okay, I like to spend time with my husband.

Mermaidivy, you are so great! You can spend your weekend with your husband. He is one lucky guy! LOL. As for me, if we are at home, I'll go online and let him take care of the little one for once as the whole weekday I've been doing that. And then when I'm done, we go out shopping. So in the end, no time with hubs.

hahaha I know waht you mean but I dont do much posting when I first joined mylot and one day I decided to spend the whole day here at mylot mad at least 2 discussion and was so overwhelmed by the responses I get from my 2 discussion. I was planning to reply a lot of discussion that day and end up answering mostly on the reply I get from my discussion which took me the whole day to do that lol ..... I forgot to eat had a little sleep the next day got me a headache then got more addicted at mylot .... this are the few things that happened when you get addicted here at mylot but the best part is you gain friends and change ideas with them at the same time getting to know them more and more each day and a day without mylot would seem a day without living at all try replying to all the responses you have on all your discussion and you will know what I mean good luck and see you around

Congrats...At least ur hard work pays out something to you....Work harder, but most important is you must make sure you have an enough rest too at night. I can say that I am not addicted to MyLot yet...I will login when I have a free time, which I hardly have now.I can only doing it at night time after my boy sleep. SOmetimes I just feel tired and no mood to sit infront of my laptop. I am lucky that my husband never ask me to stop surfing nets...coz he sleep earlier than me at night. But then my son will always demand me to accompany him sleep at night,so I have to wait till he falls sleep, then I can sneak out. Happy LOtting!!

The sky's the limit. Believe it or not, but I've just been introduced to Mylot and I just can't get my hands off the keyboard. Perhaps the first reason is because I'm a writer, and the second reason could be because I have the inclination to understand and learn by the minute. Whatever, addicted or not, I'm having fun and will continue to do so. A piece of advice, "Don't let that Einstein in you die."

The sky's the limit. You said it well. If I let the sky to be MY limit, in no time, I'll sleep without a roof over my head and I'll definitely see the sky! coz if I dont stop and shut down my PC, my husband will one day disown me and I'll sleep under the sky. Haha..

Hey, Well at the moment I am quite addicted to myLot. The main reason is that I always find some good conversations that I can engage in, and not to mention that we get a few cents for posting as well. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

It may be due to my attitude. I have that kind of attitude that when I start something, I want it to end well. As for myLot, I see no ending, so I kept on going and going and going.. until I reach my next milestone.
