What I overheard.

The other day while travelling, I overheard a co-passenger telling his friends that there is no person on earth who can truthfully say that he/she is not a hypocrite. I was thinking over this discussion for the rest of my journey and was trying to probe deeper into it. Finally I concluded that he may be right. There can't be anybody who is 100% free of hypocrisy. A small percentage of hypocrisy does exists in every body, without which life will be very difficult to live. If someone says he or she is absolutely free of hypocrisy, I think the person is not truthful to himself or herself. What is your take on this? Yes or no? meapas.

I don´t think anyone is perdfect in this world. And it´s not only about hypocrecy, but of all kinds of flaws. But we have our special share or them and some of us are more hypocrite and some of us have other negative aspects. I try to be myself, no masks, but that has come with age too. But I would like to change a lot of things about myself. I can´t though. That´s how I was made Take care

I agree. We all have our beliefs and our standards but circumstances can cause us to go against them...sometimes automatically, against our will. Nobody's perfect but the important thing is that you learn from these experiences and grow.

You are very right. We should learn from experiences and that is the real growth. Thanks for your response. meapas.

Wow, never really thought about it. I would wish that I was 100% free of hypocrisy, but I am sure there are areas where I make judgment calls based on bias and that in itself is hypocrisy. I guess it gives us something to strive toward!

I know that I have said one thing before and then done the opposite, so I know I have been, and am a hypocrite. That co-passenger may very well be right. I don't like the way I feel when I catch myself being hypocritical, but it does happen.

I agree with you; no one can be so virtuous as to be 100% free of hypocracy.
