All my life I have enjoyed cold drinks like fruit juice and water. Sadly I am allergic to coffee. I need to have an iron rich diet so my sister suggested I drink nettle tea. The shop only had nettle and peppermint tea. So I bought some of that. I was amazed to find it is delicious. Maybe I should give some other hot drinks a chance. Do you like hot drinks? If so which ones. Which herbal teas have you tried? Have you liked any of them?

Hi Maximax, In the summer heat I am a coffee and iced water addict, but in the winter months I drink lots of hot tea. I don't use milk or sugar so have always preferred teas which have some flavour beside just tea. My favourite is definitely earl grey but I am also a big fan of our local tea which is mountain tea, a big string of local herbs from the mountains. I make mint tea which doesn't actually involve any tea, just boiled fresh mint leaves. I shall try sage tea this winter with the same method.

Hello max, there are so many new types of hot drinks on the market today, there's bound to be more that will enjoy. I started drinking green tea recently, mainly for the health benefits it has over coffee. At first, it was just OK, but eventually the taste has grown on me and I really like it now. There is such a range of flavours, and most can be bought in small quantities at supermarkets, so you should start experimenting.

Hi Maxi. How are you ? I like drinking tea. I drink different kinds. Also the Chinese and Japanese green teas every afternoon, very refreshing. They certainly have herbal essences. One flavor I like is jasmine tea. Have a nice day !

Hi Maxine, I don´t specially like herbal teas and not everyone of them are iron rich. I like normal tea of many kinds. I specially like lapsang souchong, earl grey and green jasmine. But I´m a coffee drinker. I have fresh mint and other herbs at home because my brother likes them after dinner. But there are foods that are very rich in iron. They are not even expensive although some of them need some work. In my country we give liver to people who need iron. I make a wonderful liver paté and it´s not difficult if you have a blender. My daughter has an iron problem too after a surgery due to ectopic pregnancy. She eats fried cow liver with crushed garlic. Here we can also get feet from different aninmals and make protein rich gelatines. I like pork´s feet but the fibnest is chicken feet gallantine. For me it´s too much work. As for veggies, there´s spinach , asparagus and fava beans. Please take care!

I don't drink coffee, but I like to drink tea. I have tried herbal teas but I prefer the more traditional tasting teas like English Breakfast and Ceylon. Assam has a lovely deep flavour to it as well. I also enjoy drinking green and white tea. They are very good for you and contain a lot of antioxidants.

Right now I'm thinking of a device to make a hot drink that is not plastic lined. Hot plastic and food should be avoided. I'm thinking stainless steel or the likes. Also have you ever noticed how some foods change flavor when served or stored in different containers? Now plastic is great for freezing things but use glass and ceramic to heat and serve and the flavor is preserved. Or so I think...

I am also "allergic" to hot coffee as my throat will feel itcy and I start to cough after a sip. I hence avoid coffee until one day when a friend buy me an iced coffee. I realised I have outgrown my "allergy". I now drink tea with coffee if I have the chance to either drink coffee or tea. For herbal tea, as long as they are not bitter, it is in my menu list and I have no special like or dislike.

Hi, ya i like hot drinks as well as cold drinks too. However, i've read some articles and studies showing that drinking cold drinks after meal is not good for health, and actually it can be cancerous. Ever since that, i take warm or hot drinks during or after my meals and i like them too. There are actually a lot of hot drinks that i like, including coffee, tea, nescafe, milo and hot chocolate. For herbal teas, i like most of them. They're nice to drink as well as they're healthy too. Ya, perhaps you should really give a try for hot drinks apart from taking fruit juice and water daily. Maybe you'll find them taste good and start to like them then.

FOr me, i have this sensitive teeth which i think reacts more with cold drinks that is why most of the time i prefer drinking coffee over iced tea or soda. But i still cannot give my mango shake or chocolate shake.

Wow you are allergic to coffee. I am just one of the millions of people who cannot start their day without having a cup of hot coffee in the morning. I really savor the taste of coffee and it perks me up with the day's work ahead. I also love drinking tea but the downside also like with coffee is that it stains the teeth. They say that using a straw to avoid its contact with teeth can help or drinking water immediately after can also be of help.
