Today I saw a little boy was sleeping on a road island .The sun was shining at the mid of the sky.The cars and buses were running on the road. The surroundings were full of noise. But nothing could awake the boy.He was in deep sleep. The boy sells flowers to the riders of the cars. When cars stop and the red light of the signal dazzles the boy runs to the cars and tries to sell flowers to the fortunate people of the cars. Some buy his flowers and he gets some money. He shares his income with his poor father and mother. The tired boy was sleeping under the hot sun.But who cares for such street children ?

Hi, bhanusb! There's nothing sadder than this. We put money into all sorts of unnecessary things, like wars, but not into the development of these kids. As economic crises affect the whole world, the problem worsens. While many of us give all the money and tie we can to organizations who help these kids, it's never enough. Everyone needs to put more effort into people and let the rest wait!

In my area, it's illegal to feed the homeless or to help them; only established organizations may do so. To me, that's one of the worst miscarriages of justice there could be..If a person wants to help hungry people, we should be able to do so. All an individual can do here is donate money. Even those who have no money to spare want to help, too!

I guess every country has these children, ours are mostly hidden. We try to use government programs to give them some education so that they will have better lives, but many are so afraid of the government that they don't take advantage. It may be the parents who are afraid that the government will come and take their children away. And this may be a justified fear. In a perfect world all our children would be well cared for and educated, but that just doesn't happen.

this is sad. my thing is dont know where you are from. but i am in the states and we hear about homeless child all the time. to me our goverment need not to worry so much about other countries when we have homeless kids here in our country. seeing young kids that are going hungry and people always say we need to feed people in africa or where ever. when in our back yard we have our own that need help to be fed and shelter

yes i think that obama should be able to help the homeless children there. don't you some place for homeless children. i mean i know that they can ask assistance from government. you have such insitution for thos poor people. we only have few institutions like that and when they do get put in those shelter their lives are not the ideal condition but still much better compared their life to the streets.

I'm from Indian sub-continent one of the poor regions of the world. If there are street kids in one of the richest countries of the world then think about our poor countries.Yes President Obama can do some thing for the poor along with the world leaders.World leaders often say about terrorism.Yes terrorism is a world problem no doubt. But poverty is more serious problem.World leaders should give attention on this problem.

This breaks my heart to hear such things. Its not fair to me that some people in the world are rich and others are so poor that their children are sleeping in the street trying to make a buck. Why wouldn't one of the parents be on the street trying to sale flowers? Why would they let their young children do this? Please explain if you know. Thanks!

The society needs soft hearted person like you. There are big gaps between the rich and the poor. When the poor people go out for work they send their children in the street to sell flowers.By the total income of the parents and children the poor people cay buy some foods for them.

in my country this doesn't exist but i've seen it when i've worked abroad. it's sad and very unfair - i think possibly the only way to sort it is unemployment benefit for parents but poorer countries may not be able to afford that.

Yes It's not possible for the poorer countries to solve this problem. The international NGOs should come forward to help the poor. These NGOs can make best use of these working hands.

Yes corruption is the main problem of the poor countries. The monetary help they get from the donor countries that goes to the pockets of the administrators.

It must be hard on the little boy, but he persevere and still working under hot sun and he slept under hot sun must as a sign he is very tired. Whho can sleep under hot sun on a road island. To have that kind of will is really amazing. Its difficult to see that kind of person or kid nowadays. Many kids today are spoiled and even little hardship they unable to face it.

The governments are busy with meaningless works. They don't think about people specially for the poor. They are more interested in politics.

this is sad.almost all countries in the world have this problem.I guess this can be solved when the government and the couples work hand in hand.the government can implement more sincere programs for scholarship as well as feeding programs for these children.the couples should cooperate and plan their family accordingly.in my country, most of these children lives in a family with 8 other siblings, and their parents doesn't have any decent income to support them.if the couple decided to have only 2 kids, their budget would have fit their family and their life would be much easier.it's odd, because rich families who can support 10 children have only 2 or 3 children in their family.while those who have low income, they tend to have 6 or more.

That is very sad. Where was this? I hate to see such poverty in the world. It touches my heart. Where were the parents and were they working as hard as the poor little boy? Makes you want to take them all home with you.

Honesly speaking, I believe that this should be the job of the government. Social services should be doing their job and not let the children wander. Since most of them are abandoned by their parents, responsibilities fall on the government. There are some good samaritans that take them under their care. There are some bad people that use these children for their gain. It happens in this country and it is the sad plight of the poor.

There are many people who help those poor guys out in the road but they dont mention it or brag it, you said that who cares but did u care for him, tried buying a flower, if yes then thats why we can do help them if we can and we should also thank god that we have atleast a house and food to eat and help those who are not able too.

By buying flowers from the street kids we can help them. But it's not the social solution.Socially we should try to mitigate poverty from the country.

In India, there are several institutions work for street children. They are are NGOs. They change their life. But parent or their owners wants money from them, so they work in hot son bare foot.

Yes some NGOs are doing for the street children. But these are not sufficient.Their parents are also jobless or day laborer. They should be provided in some works for their livelihood .

Every time I saw some street children I will always thank God how lucky I am I have never been like them. And come to think of it, how the government didn't see the situation of this young and innocent children. How I wish our government do their duties to protect them.
