I am NOT alone! Actually, I knew that, even back then. How could a gal NOT like Spock - so unattainable? so sexy, in a tall, dark and mysterious way... http://www.lemondrop.com/2009/07/15/why-mr-spock-is-the-perfect-boyfriend/ I am SO there! This gal has all the right ideas. If I had been able to write this well, I could've written this! So, did you fall for Spock like some of us other geek gals? Gotta hand it to Star Trek, made science fiction acceptable to the ladies!

I like mysteries well enough, but I have to like the PEOPLE in the mystery, I like following certain characters, Stephanie Plum, Joe Leaphorn, Sherlock Holmes, much more than I like the mystery part of it. I love science fiction tho, it can be a romance, a mystery, an action story, but those sf elements add such a flair to the story.

I love sci fi stuff. I had never really thought about Dr. Spock before. I like kinda smaller ears. I'm intimidated by the pointedness of them. I did think Captain Kirk was kinda hot though. He was always hooking up with those alien women though..LOL

Dr. Spock was the baby guy, its Mr. Spock. Kirk never did much for me, he was the "jock" of the crew in my book.

I liked the 2 helms men myself, I go for short guys, Spock is definitely the exception in my book, like the brainy kind of guy tho

Actually, I saw more as a cross between a robot and a human as far as emotions and so on. William Shatner, when he was younger and the captain of the original series, most of my friends and I liked him. The Doctor and Scottie are my heros. Each can fix anything in their field.

I didn't see him as a robot, I saw a strong, but conflicted person. His stoic, unemotional-ism helped get me thru 8th grade. Once the a-holes discovered that they couldn't see me get upset, they left me alone.

I didn't say he wasn't someone to emulate (copy), but I just didn't see him as a sexy person. Sexy to me responds with heart and soul. I grew up with tons of unobtainable males, that wasn't sexy to me, frustrating, but not sexy. Yes, stoic does get others to leave you alone. Which is what I would have done with Spock, left him alone.

I always found Spock a little unattainable, so I focused on Sulu. Why is it that all the cute ones are gay? Did you know there is a book for partner's of people with Asperger Syndrome, "Loving Mr. Spock". Some people are living it without the pointy ears!

well, the fact is, as we learned in various forms of Star Trek, that Vulcans aren't UN-emotional, they control their emotions. I always thought of Spock as kind of "teasing" the humans around him with the unemotional stuff. After all, we know that Sarek kept MARRYING humans.

Same with Asperger folk. The emotions are there, they just don't express them the way most people expect them to. Yep, Sarek did like to walk on the wild side, didn't he?

You are hilarious! First of all, how could Spock be the perfect boyfriend when he is all about control and not showing emotion? He is more like the perfect anti-boyfriend!

well, he's into self-control, not controlling other's (I'm kind of into self-control too, but don't go telling me what to do) and he's got those emotions, he just controls them too!

LOL. I have watched Star Trek lots of times when I was younger. I never did look at spock that way though. I looked at another guy on there a little bit like that though. I cannot think of his name though. It has been too long now.

Well, I was only about 8 when Spock was on tele, and yeah, I have to say, he was the handsome one! LOL. Even back then, I knew a good man when I saw one, and it wasn't just looks. The silly thing is, I complain that kids are getting younger and younger when they start looking, and there I was at 8!!!

I was actually 12 when it came on, but I discovered Illya Kuryakin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illya_Kuryakin during the spring after turning 11. I have to say that before that I watched the horses....

That's so funny, I know other girl who loves him. She says he's sexy and have a very masculine face, and that he is charming. He is not bad at all but I'm enchanted by Data.

I had such high hopes for Next Gen... but I didn't like Picard, hated Riker and Data just left me cold. Geordi was about the only one I cared for, and I liked him better in Roots. Needless to say, none of the Star Trek "reboots" have done much for me. Probably the closest would be the new movie, and even that didn't do much.

I think that we have to understand, by looking at their related race, the Romunlans, that Vulcans have emotions, they just control them. I might guess that there would have to be a show of emotions in private, at least once every 7 years...
