Do you think people who tend to be stay alone reading or seeing movies are odd? I have a little sister who is around 18 years old, she prefers to be at home everytime she has a break from school. I thought she was odd, but after talking with her I found she is actually a lively girl. What about you?

Just because they're alone dosen't mean their lonely, I love being alone at home, it's great! I could b shopping or running around from here to there but I don't unless I have to. I love being home and I don't " think. I'm odd. I'm Content being home and when lucky, being alone!

Exactly what they say about me: WEIRD! But i disagree. It's a part of my uniqueness. Homebody like me can still be fun to be with. I know because my friends enjoy my company. And we can actually shift moods you know. We can be lively and jolly. Although those moods just surface sometimes since we're predominantly quiet and prefer to be alone or be with friends and still be quiet.

Hi joan, somebody told me that one should first love himself, especially his personality, many people say that I'm introverted, I agree, but I like to be on my own. I enjoy this loneliness. :) Hope you'll enjoy your life! Good luck, my friend!

Not at all odd. I prefer to stay home and read a good book anytime Generally, I prefer to be on my own - apart from my cats that is.

I'm also a lonely girl, like to do things alone and not mix around so much and prefer to be alone than talking and laughing non-stop, but i don't think I'm odd. I think instead of talking about teh same things over and over again, i prefer to read, watching movies or writing, it more beneficial. I do mix, I do laugh and of course talk, it just not as much as others.

People here play Ma-jong, they make great fun on it, but I do not like that, I prefer to be alone, I would like some private space to do the things I like, such as watching movies, and reading a novel that I like.

May need to be distinguished between 'live alone' with 'life according to needs'. If there are people who want to live alone, must feel weird. But if there are people who live according to the needs, that does not do something that is not necessary, of such attitude should be respected. They socialize, but necessary, is not excessive. They have principles, that every action must be useful. I think it is not strange.

I find a weird thing that to some people, the more they wanna be with people, the more they wanna be alone, that is, they want to be with people, but when they are with people they feel noisy, so it's a paradox actually.

Me too considered as odd by others.Sitting lonely, reading books or being idle and not participating with others is not like they are odd. They may be combusted in some pressures that could not be shared or they may have some stress or depression.Regarding me I prefer my work accomplishment than anything else.So I look odd for others and i wont respond other until I finish my job.But people do not understand me.I a perfectionist and so i wish always to accomplish my jobs and then move on to enjoyment or participation and others. So for every loneliness there is a reason. What people often do is they imagine other in the position of themselves. That creates the image of odd in them.Try to figure out the reason. Good Luck!!

:) Actually, I love to work as a part-time translator, I like to make life busy and meaningful, I work on work days, and I teach on weekends, and when necessary, I will go and translate, people around me take me as nuts, they always say that, don't drive yourself so hard, you wanna be a dragon lady? And I say to myself, isn't it good to be a dragon lady? Hahaaa, but to tell the truth, sometimes I will feel tired and bored, but I can not stop, so when I don't need to work and earn money, I would just sit there and enjoy my loneliness. Thanks, my friend. By the way, I like reading too.
