Or looking for something but in actual fact it is right infront of your eyes! Do share your experience here, tks! :)

Hi busky5, no need to see doctor. I think it is normal because quite a number of people experience this especially when they are in a hurry, they tend to panic and have this "memory gap" as mentioned by anneshirley. Thanks for sharing and happy myLotting.

Yes, it also happens to me, actually many times already. it only says that we are already getting old. We get some eye problem and memory lost, lol. Accept the fact that all of us are not getting younger but getting older. With my experience with this, last week, I was really mad and almost shouting because I can't find my company ID.I was blaming my brother if he saw it or not. My brother laugh. And I become very hot because I am already late to my job. He just say "try to look at your chest, what can you see"?Oh, i was really shy, I just went out the house and proceed to office. lol!

I believe this is common to elderly people...here they call it memory gap since you forget things that just occurred recently. I also believe that this is because we have been accustomed to doing things (even without thinking, we can do it) that we actually forgot if we had done it already or not. I think the best solution here is to put things where you find them and make it a habit to keep your things in a place where you always want to keep them.

Hi Anneshirley, I like your suggestion on - 'make it a habit to keep our things in a place where we always want to keep them.' Once we have this habit, it will save us the trouble to hunt around everywhere looking for it! It is really wonderful that you share this with us, so that we can improve ourselves. Thank you very much and hope to hear from you again!

One day he was searching desperately something he literally put all the things upside down and making every thing to be misplaced and i entered the room and asked my dad wht he is searching for then he tells me that it the spectecals!! i was left with my mouth wide open for sometime and then i told him its placed on his head... Great!! then we both laughed out loudly...

Oh yes, that happens to me ALL the time. When I was still wearing specs last time, I used to go crazy looking for it only to discover it is on my head! Like an old woman I would search like crazy every nook and corners of my house. Now that I am wearing contacts, it doesnt get better! It gets worse. There are days that I am already wearing my contacts but thought that I havent and panicked when I see my lense case empty! I think I have some kind of sickness, mental sickness... anything?

Dear Merryn, you really make me laugh! It is so funny when we think back how panicked we are at that point of time! It did happened to me also when I was wearing contact lenses, some time when wore long hours, the vision a bit blur, I thought I was not wearing it, and so blur, I tried to put another piece in, thought that I already discarded the previous one. It is really crazy! Trying to wear double lenses! Worst of all, and dangerous too... there is one time, I already removed my contact lense. I was so absent minded, I thought I haven't remove it yet, so I tried to search and pull it out from my eyes. That's really scary... and dangerous too!

Hahaha, that's funny... talking with the mobile phone yet trying to look around for it! It seems sometimes we really absent minded just like what anneshirley said "memory gap". I always look high & low for my handphone, which actually I was charging it at the regular charging place. That's means I'm the one who put it to charge yet I forgot all about it! lol, tks for sharing & hopt to hear from you again!

Hi vingyan, which part of Klang Valley do you stay? I am at PJ. I also always can't find my cell phone. I will use my house land line to call my handphone and asked my son to hear for the ringing tone and locate my cell phone. So many times...lol

For mummy, I got to blame on those hormone after giving birth...haha. Most mummy are tend to easily forget things that they did a minute ago or couldn't remember where things put. Thus, it create some kind of stress. This really hits me most of the time, whereby I couldn't remember whether I lock my car in the carpark (I will walk all the way back to the carpark and check), where I place my house key (in the bag or pocket?) or after leave the house I don't recall whether I swtich off the light and fan (went back and check) and things like that...so blur or so eaily forgetting? I also don't know. Before having kid, I'm not like that.

What happened to you is exactly what happened to me too! I think when we have children, the tasks at hand is just too much for us to handle... too much things to do and we tend to think what's next, what's the other things we need to doetc, etc. Tks for sharing and hope to hear from you again!

Ofcourse, it happens to me too amd my family also. Specially to my husband and my son. If they are searching something they will immediately come to me saying they can,t find it. The thing would be at its right place but they won't see it. sometimes it happens to me in the kitchen that i don't find spoon or knife ewhen they are exactly in front of me. I think this happens when we are thinking something else and doing something else.

Especially my husband, always look for things. I will be the one who have to search for him. Actually the thing is there, he just can't see it, then when I said was there, he will said I also check there, but I did not see it..how come? You are right, we think too much...lol

Huh, you lost your girlfriend? She must be wondering what happened to you for taking so long to come...It do happen to us, when we are talking and more ideas come in, but out of sudden we forgot what we want to say, the ideas just disappeared into the thin air. Tks for sharing such a wonderful thought and facts, hope to hear from you again!

This does not happen to me because I know when I cannot see and when I misplace my glasses, I really do misplace them and not on my forehead or head either. I do forget some things but they tend to be things on the internet because I am always on my computer.

Oh yeah! I used to blame it on being way too busy but we were on vacation a few weeks ago and I couldn't tell you how many times I looked for my sunglasses that were on the top of my head!! I didn't feel too bad when my friends were helping me search though and didn't see them. Only thing is they caught on quicker than I did! They just pointed to my head the next few times!

Hi fasttalker, normally our friends and relatives is the one that can locate our misplaced item. Just wonder why... because we cannot see ourself, on our head... SO I think the next time before we panic and look everywhere, we should examine ourselves first, touch our head whether is there, our pockets etc..lol Tks for sharing and hope to hear from you again!

Ahah, it happened to me countless times. The car key was missing.I searched high and low but to no avail. I roped in my son and my wife to help me look every nook and corner but no where to be found. Alas! It was in my hand all this while. My spectacles, where is my spectacles? Go thru the whole routine and it was in my shirt pocket.

I think you need to cultivate the good habit suggested by anneshirley. Put thing at the same specific place that you will know where to find it! Reward your wife and son everytime they help you to find your misplaced item, that will be a huge some of $$, lol, tks for sharing and happy myLotting.

This seems to happen far too often in my life and my parents it seems. I think the best one was when I was with my mother. We were getting ready to leave the house, but when she looked through her purse she couldn't find her keys to the car. So ensued the house wide hunt for the keys. We checked all the normal spots, she emptied out her purse, and the carry bag (an extra bag she always takes). Finally in frustration she starts gesturing her hands talking about where they might be. And at the same time we stop and look at her hands. She was holding onto them the whole time without realizing it. I'd say we both laughed about it, but really it was just me laughing at her.

It happened to my husband too. He asked us to help around to search for his lost / misplaced car keys, housekeys and most of the time was in his pocket or just like your mum, he was holding it all the while! My son would said "haiya, make us suspense only!" lol. Tks for sharing your story here, appreciate it very much, hope to hear from you again!
