I've been on AC for the past 20 minutes trying to catch a Call for Content. I have been jumping off to look on Craigslist for a washer and I have been doing other things. My point is I look every couple of minutes. In the past 20 minutes I have received at least 15 email notifications of c4c and they are gone by the time I look. I was on there at 7:19 received notification on 7:20 and article was already gone. What is the point in being notified?

haha Mommaj, you have to run faster oh! Others have reached the finishing line, and you haven't taken a step! How to catch a Call for Content at this speed? i suggest you wake up every morning, and run a marathon within two hours! That will help you catch anything you want oh!

Hate to tell you, a two hour marathon for me would take all day unless they give an endless supply of chocolate to the winner. LOL. Just kidding. I don't think I would do well in a marathon. I hate sweating. I live in one of the hottest areas and I don't like to sweat, go figure. I can't be right in the head. LOL

dont worry Mommaj, can always let you drop at the North or South pole, and let you run away from the polar bears! I think you can run more than a marathon. So how is your call for content? manage to catch a single one?

HAHAHA. Still nothing on the call for content. I'm going to have to write other articles and submit for an upfront payment, hoping they will give me more than the $2.50 they normally post for c4c's. LOL My upfronts are close to $4. Anything is found money though.

Poor MommaJ still worn out from the vacation and her reflexes are not moving fast enough. How come content editors don't get advance notice?

It does seem like the content editors should get more perks!

I don't know if I am slow or if it is just the computer. Well, I know I am slow but this time let's blame it on the computer. Scheng's not around is she? I can blame it on scheng because she told me how to do a lot of different things with the computer and now I have all these programs on my computer that makes it run slower. Yep that's it, it's Scheng's fault. You would think they would try to give us a perk. All we get is a pat on the back for about a week's worth of work. Oh, and a badge by our name that says category editor. LOL We're important. ROFL. We get one call for content that is more than the $2.50 calls as soon as we send in our choices. We still have to meet the guidelines though. It could be rejected.

You get emails about calls for content? I only see them when I log onto the Associated Content page. Typically what is left is usually podcasts or video, neither of which I do. Or there are requests for articles, for which you get page views only. So, I think, well, I might as well just write about what I like in that case. There was a $2.50 article request about the Obama Health Care Plan (you either write for or against), but that amount is very tempting to me; I guess because I remember the days when they paid $8 or $10 for a particular topic. I actually read one of the Obama-related articles that a friend had written and it was just awful. AC should have saved their $2.50. I don't think you are missing too much unless you know something I don't.

That should read "NOT very tempting to me."

I have been on AC a long time. I took a long break from the site, and just returned this year. I enjoy it more now, but the money is much worse than when I started. When I was active before, when they did a call for topics, $10 was a common price they paid. My name is Christine Zibas and that's what I use over there. I will have to check about the settings, although I usually try and minimize the number of emails I get. Then, even with the friends I am following, I only get sporadic notice of their articles being posted, so I tend to miss out a lot on what some people write and get notified about every single article of others. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

What's your name on AC? You must have been on there for a while to get the $8-$10 calls. They have been throwing $8 calls out the other night when I wrote this. Obviously, a partner was looking for the article. They usually don't pay that much. LOL As far as the emails go, go into your profile and you can choose what type of emails you want them to send to you. It doesn't help me because by the time I get my email the call is gone. I was so mad. I've turned off the alerts now.

I've given up on the c4cs....excuse me, assignments. They are never for anything topic I am interested in or have anything to say about not to mention, lately they have all been (95% of them anyway) for video or podcasts and I'm not, nor do I want to be, set up to do either. The only email notifications I get are for the targeted assignments for my Category. And I can't even write anything on those because of their specific requirements. *shrug*

On my emails, I found they had some parenting calls for $8. Of course, they were gone as soon as I recieved the email. I wonder if they actually sent them to me. LOL
