Can I make money receiving texts/sms

I want to receive sms messages for cash. The only problem is that I haven't found one that isn't Indian. I live in the U.S. Does anyone know of a service like this for the U.S.?

But why would you want to receive texts for cash when each text costs you money anyways?

Earlier I came across fluc.com, which is a similar service. But some member here in Mylot said that it's a scam. I don't have personal experience with them.
