Banco De Oro debit card doesn't allow PayPal verification

For the last weeks, I have been finding a way to verify my account without having to use a credit card. One of the methods I tried is using a BDO debit card to verify my PayPal account. But in my 3 tries, PayPal said the bank is denying the verification. I called Banco de Oro and they said they have no affiliations with PayPal so they don't allow such transactions. Has anyone been successful verifying their PayPal account with BDO debit card? How did you verify your PayPal account without using a credit card? Note: I am from the Philippines.

I have asked my niece to use BDO Debit Card. I thought it would be accepted. But then she told me that it is not accepted by Paypal. Only Metrobank EON is accepted and any credit card. I had mine accepted using credit card.

I tought BDO allows verification since they have the visa logo in it and also I read it somewhere in the SM Mall that we can verify Paypal using BDO that is why I'm trying to open an account with them. If BDO doesn't work I'd rather not open an account with them, I'd rather open one with Union bank. I heard that Union bank verifies Paypal and Alertpay as well.

I too am from the Philippines and your best bet to verify paypal is still the Union bank EON Visa Debit card, as unionbank is affiliated paypal it is the easiest thing to do. Plus if you encounter any problems the customer support has enough knowledge to assist you, unlike with other banks, who don't even know what paypal is.

try getting unionbank's eon card to verify your paypal account.i got one and used it and it worked for me. don't worry about giving out your credit card information to paypal.there's no chance that it will be shared to a thrid party. i should know since i used to handle paypal accounts in my previous work.i didn't encouter any disputes or frauds while i was handling paypal and their info security and verification is top notch so you're sure of the safety of your bank info. cheers!!!

Hi there rich! I've verified mine using my BDO credit card. It's safe really. But you can use the Union Bank EON card. I have one too and Union Bank EON card is designed for Paypal transactions.

Hi abby! I've a read a blog about BDO Paypal transfers. The person who wrote the blog shared that BDO didn't accepted the Paypal transfer and the money was returned to Paypal but the money was lost. I also did asked BDO clerks about Paypal and they said they have never done any Paypal transactions yet. That's why I never used BDO for my online transactions. I think it's only Paypal who recognizes BDO because they have provided a bank code. But BDO doesn't really accepts such transactions.

I just verified my PayPal account using my BDO Debit Card (or so I hope). How would one know if it's denied, will one receive the message right away? It seems that I was able to do it because I was instructed to go to the next step which is to confirm the account. Confirming the account involves entering the 4-digit code which I could find in the bank statement 2-3 days after. Does it mean I have successfully linked my card to paypal?

i think yeah, cause all you have to do is enter the 4 digit code and your account on paypal would be verified already. but debit card doesn't have a bank statement, you only have your passbook right? which means you won't find the paypal code on your passbook so what you have to do is request for a bank statement on your bdo branch and it costs 10 per page i guess.

Union Bank's Eon Card would be helpful. It would only cost you around 300-350 php.

Well, I dunno much about that though because most banks in singapore do have some transactions with paypal.. Thus, i have no problem in linking my debit card with paypal.. hehe ^_^ Maybe waht u can do is to try other banks instead?? Opening another account with another bank which has transactions with paypal?? I do understand that now mylot only pays thru paypal and thus all of u needs a verified paypal account ^_^

I dont have a "real" credit card. What i did was look in to the prepaid credit cards that are aimed for teenagers like in canada there is the muchmusic credit card. It doesnt really use credit but it has the mastercard symbol on it. U can only use the amount you have put on...but it works many places just like a regular card with a much lower limit.

Well I used a VCC to verify my paypal account. Hassle free and it will only take minutes to verify my account. Plus it's safer than putting my real credit card details on the internet.. It only cost me $9 to do it..

I think this information is already obsolete. BDO debit cards can now be used to verify paypal accounts. You just have to enroll it to internet banking first. See this articles: http://www.basuel.net/?q=node/79 http://pinoyonlineguide.blogspot.com
