How do you all girls or your GF's trim their eyebrows?? We were always used to Threading, a thread is used to pull out the hairs in shape. But now i have seen here in all chinese parlours, they do plucking. I never tried it before, but i feel it must be more painful.. Also , i have heard that if you pluck your eyebrows , in future all your eyebrow will be gone,,, Is it true?? What you do to shape up your eyebrow.. Is their any other method too...

i pluck my eyebrows. yes it is painful but at first only, i am used to it and so i don't rally feel much pain now, i also heard about threading but never tried it before...some also shaved their eyebrows, but again i am not used to it and i am afraid that i might get a cut from there...so plucking is still the best for me... and so far, i've been plucking my eyebrows for more than ten years...they are still here! hehehe i think it will be gone if you pluck all the hair! so i just pull out excess hair...anyway i also hear from some people that plucking can damage some nerves on that area of the eye...but i don't really care, i just hear that... have a nice day!

yes i think for old ladies its quite normal to loose hair including eyebrows in their old age...using eye liner is okay coz me too, even if i still have eye brows, i like using eye brow liner to make it look better and to give a little emphasis on it...

yep shaving at that delicate place is a bit scary for me too... About plucking, never heard it can damage some nerves too, but yep i have seen many old chinese ladies here who must be doing plucking(as only this is popular with chinese here), and now they don't have eyebrow hairs atall, they do use eyebrow pencils for making their brows..

I pluck it... it is quite painful when I first tried pulling the hair out but after I tried couple times, it was okay and it won't get all red. I odn't have a good shaped and deep color eyebrow so I need to pluck it a good shape and draw it when i go out... I don't want to look like I don't have an eyebrow...

I don't think there is a big difference between threading and plucking. Plucking you can do youself, but you have to go to a parlor for threading. I do prefer threading, becaue it is easy to be done at a parlor and the beatician will do a small massage for your eyebrows. I do enjoy it. I don't like to spend time threading. My husband go for threading.

As i know you pull one hair at a time, when you do pluking, After threading too, if some small small hairs are left , some beauticians do pluck the small, soft hair... Its so nice to hear that your hubby do also takes care of his brows...

Hey, who told you that only girls trim their eyebrows? In my country all girls and most of boys trim their eyebrows. But mostly people use threading only while the plucking and waxing is used for removing other unwanted hairs. For face only threading is used, i however dont trim my eyebrows as luckily i already have very thin eyebrows. Happy mylotting!

I think most of the girls the threading way of removing the unwanted hair .. you can remove by plucking but its very painful but hair does come back and this time it will be thicker then the normal..besides these methods there are creams available but you should be very careful while doing the eyebrow shaping ...

I use wax ,never heard of threading but it sounds painful. I have seen people who have plucked to much ,your right they sometimes don't grow back. I do my own ,I think that the places that they preform these services are dirty. Plus it cheaper for me to do it.It is a pain that is worth the gain, once you do it you will see its not as bad as you thought.I know of no other methods sorry.

Hi Nehaagra, I've tried shaping my eyebrows using both method. I started with plucking my eyebrows when I was in highschool. When I got into college that was when my friends told me that threading is better in maintaining a good shape and it last longer. I tried it; "Oh My! It was painful!" I thought maybe it's because I never tried it before. However even as time went by, I still think treading is more painful. :)

There are so many things that you can do nowadays. I have tried threading but going out and actually getting it done all the time just got the better of me. What I do now is I wax at home. It's fast and it's conventient for me.

How you do actually wax the brows, sorry for the ignorance, but do you use wax strips, or lotion,?? how to shape them??? I would like to know other optins too as really its not convinient all time, to visit a parlour..

I did used to wax my hands nad legs using hot wax only, befoere i startred using wax strips. But sometimes the wax is indeed a bit hot for skin, and for sensitive area like lower portion of eyebrow, i am really afraid to use it there... What if its hotter than lower eyebron portion can bear, it may get burnt.... But i do understand , may be with practice we get it right..

That is why you remove the pot from the burner if it's getting too hot for your skin. It's common sense. You are suppose to test to make sure that the wax isn't going to be scorching hot.

I pluck - it's not so bad, and the hairs DO grow back (although kevyn aucoin mentions in his book that if you do it often enough, the hairs grow back SLOWER). I've always wanted to try threading though....

You have to be careful with plucking or threading or whatever because as you get older the hairs don't grow back in as much. It is best to arch from the bottom just slightly and thin from the top as needed. Plucking is not particularly painful; some hairs come out easily with almost no sensation while others can be slightly painful. Threading involves pulling out hairs so there cannot be that much difference between the two.

nehaagra, I will leave it to my beautician to decide which way she thinks the best, as then she will shape my eyebrows in proper way. On if you pluck your eyebrows, it will gone, that maybe coz you have hurt the internal layer due to the plucking.. :)

there is nothing like your unwanted hairs will go forever if you do say any of the removal methods like waxing, shaving, hair removal using creams, threading and plucking. it is completely a myth. and those in beauty salons mislead us. i personally get my eyebrows plucked...it hurts less as only one hair is pulled at a time and doesnt cause puffiness around the plucked area...no bruises either. but hair does grow...i have been doing this since 5 years.

Ooh, i didn't meant immediate hairs not growing back, but in a long long run.. I do not want to loose my eyebrows completely after i reach 50 or more... I also have been doing threading for 10+ years...

i have a diffrent opinion abt plucking, i feel hair grows faster when plucked...chances of them not uprooting are more when plucked

I do plucking ever since i started shaping my eyebrows. It is only painful at first try but after that its easy and fine. I don't know how to do threading but i have heard of it before. Though i haven't seen it yet in my own eyes.

You can not do threading by yourself(its a bit tricky), , had to be done in a parlour by someone else.... In that way plucking is definately convinient...

I have tried shaving, waxing, and plucking but never threading although I might try it one day. I stick to plucking because I feel I have more control although it does get annoying. I'm not sure about the whole "if you pluck, in the future all your eyebrow will be gone" thing but I still prefer plucking. I would like to go to the parlor every once in awhile to get my eyebrows done but money is REALLY tight right now.

Yep everyone should understand the value of money, going to parlour everytime is not very much affordable always... Even i'm thinking to start plucking, can you give me some tips???

Hi i am a boy. I also have very big eyebrows so i also do threading. When you thread your eyebrows first time its really feel pain, but when you do it continuously after week so you don't feel pain. But the plucking is more painful then threading. One time i do plucking uh h its too painful. I think threading is good anyways and fast process. After threading use lotion to reduce the pain and it can also prevent from any infection.....

You pluck to shape the brow then wax to get the rest of what is there. I used to have it done in highschool because the salon where I went only charged 5.00 to do it. I have a really thick uniborw if I don't it and it looks aweful if I don't do something. I haven't had the money to get it done lately so I've been shaving that area too.

I 'm really scared about shaving, specially below the eyebrow area, what if a slight mistake...ooouuchhh.., and it would look so aweful too...

I thread - I've plucked before and recently I was trying to grow my eyebrows out so I plucked them to keep them decent enough and once they got to the thickness I wanted I threaded them. Plucking ultimately makes the hair gor slower, but threading is kind of like plucking them.

You did plucking before, and now started threading, myself did threading till now, but now i'm thinking of starting plucking.... I think its economical as well as convinient if we can do shape our eyebrows at home...

Actually if threading is done by some experienced hands its not that much painful. Some some parlours are really pathenic and make us cry due to pain..., And i make sure never to take their services again..
