I watched a video in youtube about anti-smoking campaign. There is this video from Australia which is very graphic. In that video is a woman with mouth cancer. As we all know smoking causes cancer. The woman said, "quitting is hard, but not quitting is harder. Yes, not quitting is harder once you have the mouth cancer or other diseases caused by smoking. I was really scared. I said to myself, I don't want to die ugly and I don't want to die in pain There is also this anti-smoking campaign that says "a filthy habit is not cool." Well, I hope I will never smoke again. If anyone wants to watch the videos, just go to youtube and type anti-smoking commercials on the search bar. Ciao!

I say good for you. I've seen the effects that smoking can have on a person. My father used to smoke and did so for close to 20 years. He was able to stop, but it still came back to haunt him. He developed COPD a number of years after he quit and it effects him til this day. It's really sad because he used to run marathons and triathlons. I grew up with a lot of memories of sitting in the ER room for hours in the middle of the night because he'd have to go in for emergency treatment. He grew up in a time when people didn't know what effects smoking can have, but now a days that's not the case. I'm always a little shocked that so many people are willing to start smoking when they know what it can do.

That it so sad. I don't want my kids to experience what you have experienced when your dad was brought in the ER for emergency treatment. I don't want my kids to have that fear of losing me because of my bad habit. I want to have a better health starting now because I am not getting any younger. Thank you for your comment. Happy mylotting!

Hello 00BleedingShadow00 this is checkmail and really appreciate that you have decided to quit smoking, its not easy but also not impossible thing.Habits are formed to be broken. As we grow up we earlier also have left many habbits from our childhood. This is also an just similar habbit, you can be 100% sucessful in it, and also now stop worrying about the mouth cancer thing.Everything will be fine. Keep it up and stay away from all bad habbits. GoodLuck all the best.

That's very good mood and thumbs up! Better stop than suffer in pain later. ;-)

Congratulations for your tough decision of quitting smoking! I know it is hard but since yourself have decided to do it, I guess it would not be as hard as before. I think quitting smoking depends on a person. I do not believe that it is hard to do because if you really want to do it, then, you will just have to do it. Well, my husband stopped smoking last year because he said that he wanted a clean living. Now, after not smoking for more than a year, he is back into smoking again. He said that his friends influenced him and I feel very bad and irritated about it. I thought he was really serious about quitting but why is he smoking again? I do not get it.
