I am LIVIDDDD.!!! I read this and people are becoming more and more greedy and ruthless!
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A Florida woman has been sentenced to 14 months of house arrest for leaving two grandchildren alone in a parked car while she went to play the slots.
A Broward County judge also gave the 54-year-old woman three years' probation Monday.
Authorities say the woman left the children in a car parked outside a Hallandale Beach casino in August 2008. The windows were down, but the air-conditioning was off.
A witness saw the 2-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy in the car and told the casino's security.
The prosecutor tells the South Florida Sun Sentinel that the woman had pleaded guilty to charges including felony child abuse and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
ok now..wtf was she thinking??! get a damned sitter if u have such a huge gambling problem..its how dang hot in Florida? and to leave them for countless hours while ur in air conditioned urself?? come on!!! and im sure they were hungry and thirsty..had to use teh bathroom whihc cant being at a casino..and all she got was probabtion!! they need to take those babies away far far away from her..throw in in jail for a cpl years or more..and get her help..lots of it! I am soo mad im spittin nails..what is worng with people!!!

I don't know what people are thinking now a days! That is terrible,I agree with you they should have taken them away from her. I also think that she should be made to sit all day in a car without air conditioning and she just how it feels.

i know! right!! its insane!! and i agree they shoudl put her bumin a car in the heat..and see how she likes it..no food..water or bathroom what so ever liek those poor kids..rghhh!

I tell you when it comes to children and someone mistreating them, to me there's no punishment enough for them. You take for instance that woman that put her 2 children in the car a drowned them, I don't think just spending time in prison is enough punishment for her. To me the woman should be strapped in a car and lowered down in the water until she almost drowns just to see what her kids went through. I know that sounds cruel but I just don't have any sympathy for people like that. Children do not ask to be brought into this world and we need to do all we can to protect them and love them.

How horrible can one grandma be. That is cruel and heartless. Where are the parents of these kids. People either don't care or have no common sense. This story brings tears to my eyes because I just can't take it when kids are abused like this. I'm glad that the windows were down. I just wonder how long was she in an air conditioned casino while these poor kids were in a hot car. I also can't believe that she didn't get any type of jail time. So she can learn a lesson from her stupidity.

yeaa thats what i said..im like u..breaks my heart in pieces when i read any child being abused inone way or another..is disgusting and she should have got a heck of alot more than probation!! rrrghhh!

I'm surprised she left the windows down you have to be thankful for that!!! Many of such incidents end in tragidy. I'm surprised it's only July and we have not had an incident recently of someone's foolish behavior. It's one thing to run in fast to pay for gas it's another to sit in a casino for hours thinking of no one but yourself & your potential winnings.
