can you buy these in the shops anymore i don't even remember them being phased out in shops just one day they happened to not be there. I think its strange that when i have kids they will not have a clue that cassette tapes even existed

When I was a child I remember when they switched to cd's. I do like the fact they are easier but I feel like the older stuff is just as good. LIke I never knew about records till I saw them in movies. You know the big round disc like things that they used for music long time ago. Well to get to the point. We have a huge thrift store in our city. When I go there they have records and cassettes. Too bad I dont have a cassette or record player.

it's kind of crazy how times change and things improve and cassette tapes where huge back in the day and cd's come along and now cassettes are all but extinct and you dont even really realize it all that much. Heck now everyone has ipods and downloading from itunes, even cds will become extinct before too long

I read a news article the other day that sony just celebrated the 40th anniversary of the walkman about a week ago. To celebrate it they had a guy give his 13 year old son a walkman and he proceeded to tell him that this was the ipod of his day. The kid was disgusted at how big it was and how few songs it held(the cassette was already in it so al the kid had to do is hit play) It took the 13 year old kid 2 days to figure out how to flip the cassette over to hear more songs.
