What are some "big" words you use in day-to-day speech?

Just curious if anyone uses any "big" words in their day-to-day speech. If you do, are there people who you "tone it down" around because you know they may not be as word savy as you?

I unconsciously use "big words" in my everyday talk and some people do ask me to tone it down a bit. I try but I just get carried away sometimes. Especially after reading something absolutely inspiring, I absorb the vocabulary used in the book and kind of pepper my sentences with it. hehe..

I do too! When I find fun or interesting words I love to put them into my vocabulary. I mean, that's what they're for right? Just another way to say the same thing. I told someone the other day it would "behoove" them to do something and they were like, "Well you don't need to call me names". lol I have some words that I enjoy saying, but never really come up in conversation like "myocardia", "Cotillion" (I love to say "A million cotillions"), and some other words.

I don't really notice if I use any "big words" regularly. The only time I've been complimented on my vocabulary was when I used the word "juxtaposition". Though I can't say I use that word on a day-to-day basis since the occasion to use it doesn't arise very often!

That's always a fun word, I never find a good time to use it, I don't want to sound like I'm TRYING to use big words lol. But it is fun to say.

I have rather large vocabulary, but I don't tend to use a lot of "big" words. However, I may use words like algorithm or exponential. There are a lot of words I use without thinking about it... so I cannot remember them right now because I am trying too hard to recall them!

That's not surprising, not being able to recall them, because you use them as you would naturally, so when you try to think of them it is hard to recall, since you'd have to think about everything you've ever said lol.
