I just finished one of the new Danielle Steel books called "Rogue". It was a really good book. Simple, refreshing reading. It was about a couple that had 3 children, busy careers and a divorce. In the end it brings family together. Read it! I promise you wont regret it!. I like Danielle Steel. She is a favorite of mine. I liked Judy Blume when I was younger. Jackie Collins is good too. I like the romance novels for entertainment purposes. I like being able to take myself into another realm.I love the Harry Potter series. I liked the David Peltzer series as well. A CHILD CALLED IT WAS THE FIRST BOOK.It was a recap of his life filled with abuse and how he overcame it. I like to read anything. The back of cereal boxes are a good one if all else fails. What about you? What's your favorite? Please share or recommend some books for me and others to read. Thanks. Happy Reading. dl

Well I will read anything that comes my way. Favorites though are any of Diana Gabaldon's books especially the Highlander series, I used to like Ann Rice but not since she has gone super christian. I of coarse have read the Harry Potter books and I have a thing for any and all supernatural related material.

Well this last Potter movie was a bit of a let down. My oldest sat through it going "wait where did that come from?" and "what happened they left.... out". But we took them to the drive in because what is better then Harry Potter under the stars, not to mention my 4 yr. sighted her first shooting star, perfect.

I love to read! I love the Harry Potter series and read all the books a few times already and never get tired of them. One of my favorite authors is Mary Higgins-Clark, she writes crime suspense novels. Her books are awesome! Another one of my favorites is Dan Brown (The DaVinci Code) and Steve Berry, who writes in the style of Dan Brown. I also like Stephen King, but some of his novels I'm not crazy about. I'm forever scanning for books at yardsales and just bought a box with a bunch of Nora Roberts books in it and I want to give them a go and see if I like them. Patricia Cornwell is also another author I like,I highly recommend her to people who like crime/suspense novels. I also love to read about paranormal stuff and ghosts and ancient history. I wish I had more room to store all of my books, but I don't, so I often pass some of my books on. Accept for my Harry Potter books, they'll never leave this house LOL.

I dont buy many books. I enjoy going to the library and being able to look thru stacks and stacks, isles upon isles of books. Its an awesome. I have actually had to limit myself to 4 books a week. Just in case I get too busy, I know four books is doable. In my city the library gives you two weeks on books. this way I am giving myself an extra week. Books are great. dl

Like you I will read things like cereal boxes and stuff too, I just love to read. I used to be into almost all fiction horror, my favorite was Stephen King, John Saul and Dean Koontz. I do still like their books occasionally. I love the paranormal and read alot of those non-fiction books. I have been reading alot of homesteading books and such too. Hmmm I dont think there is anything I dont really read other then romance. I just cant get into them really as they all are basically the same it seems. I have been reading alot on Gettysburg and the Civil War too. I have a lot of books and I do keep some and re-read them every year, one that I suggest to almost everyone is Two Old Woman. It is about Indians (my heritage) and it is just a really good book on how to old Indian Women survived the bitter cold on their own. I read it once a year. Anyways I read alot of different types of books and enjoy them all.

Reading is the best. I cant get enough sometimes. If I get to the end of the book and I am still yearning for more, I will literally lay in bed at night and wonder what the characters would be doing. I get totally sucked in. I love mysteries. Danielle Steel books always keep me wondering and wanting more. I am like you, I enjoy them all. dl

James Michener (Hawaii, Centenial, Texas, The Drifters, etc) has been my favorite author since high school I think. I've read every book he wrote. He passed away so guess I'm going to have to find a new favorite but sure will never be the same - I felt a special connection with Michener because The Drifters was the first 'adult type' novel I read, my Mom gave it to me = she got it in a book of the month club and couldn't get into it and asked me to tell her about it (I read anything I could get my hands on those days), I also heard a taped interview of him in a college comp class and he said almost the same thing I had to a fellow student the day before :) was really kinda neat :)

I like that Danielle Steel novel too. I, too, watch alot of history channel on television as well as read it. I like to watch it more though. Ever since I saw the movie" The Davinci Code", I have been researching the knights templar and other aspects of that era. Very interesting stuff. Keeps you thinking. dl

I've read some of the Harry Potter Series but fell out of it when it became too much teenage drama. I have also read A Child Called It and I really loved it. It really gives readers a glimpse into a sad childhood. I love reading but I don't read as much as I used to. I would be so interested in a book when I was 10 that I would read in the dark (and now I have glasses). My favorite author will always be David Clement-Davis because of his book The Sight. I love how it brings a fantasy world and an animal's perspective into one great story. I love both fiction and non fiction. But when it comes to non fiction, I like autobiographies of people from foreign countries. It really helps me se what it's like to be in another person's shoes.

Check out James Patterson, if you like HP, you will love the Maximum ride series. Also read 'Good Grief' -- the description of the book makes it sound like a real downer but it is a great read If you are like Sci-Fi -- read Greg Bear - Darwin's Children and Darwin's radio are the only of his I have read but they are captivating....also there is a glossary in the back of the books..use it. I have a long list of favorites.

I read non-fiction and fiction books as long as the contents won't bored me. My favorite non-fiction authors are mostly inspirational authors like Dr. Leo Buscaglia, Dr. Ben Carson, Dr. M.Scott Peck, Filipino preacher Bo Sanchez. My favorite Fiction books depend on the plot, but no particular favorite authors, I preferred suspense-thriller books, historical romance and horror.

Hi dloveli, I adore reading and have come across so many great authors that my book shelves overflow. Often times I will go back to a favourite book as I know it will be a perfect read and the author I choose then is the one which suits my mood that day. So today I would recommend Annie Hawes as she would fit my mood today. She has written several books about moving to Italy and they are both hilarious and moving. Her first book depicting her new life was 'Extra Virgin' a reference to the olive oil. The book is a perfect observation of local culture and characters, amazingly well written and very inspiring. Plus the Italian view of the English is so amusing. It reminds me of life in Greece in many of it's ways.

I used to buy the books I read too. However, I read so quickly that I had an overflow and had begun having no where to put them. Now I use the library. This way I can read as many as I want and not have to worry where to put them. My house is too small and lacks storage space for books or anything else for that matter. I gives me somewhere to go.Now that I am currently unemployed the days seems to run into each other because of my empty calendar. The trips to the library break up the monotony. I am going to the library to return my books today. I am making a note of the suggested author's. Maybe I will enjoy them as much as you. I'm sure I will. Thanks friend. Happy MyLotting! dl

I LOVE READING! I mostly like fiction, especially short stories. I have a lot of favorite authors, such as Edgar Allan Poe, Joyce Carol Oates, and John Steinbeck, among others. I also enjoy reading vignettes and one of my favorites would have to be Sandra Cisneros' House on Mango Street. Try reading that one, you won't be disappointed!

I have that book by Sandra Cisneros! That book sucked me in. That is funny! Every time I have ever mentioned that book no one had a clue what I was talking about. Finally someone! I enjoyed that book alot. I actually imagined mysel as one of the characters. I usually prefer a novel. I was at the book store and I looked down and there it was. I immediately picked it up and ended up purchasing it. I am glad I did. I am going to investigate some other types of short stories. thank dl

Danielle Steel is great! When I read one of her books, I lose myself in the book. Its as if I am one of the characters. I wish! I love her she is amazing the way she makes each character have its own story and then combines them into one conclusion. She's a genius. Happy Reading my friend. dl

I have always been very passionate about reading, dloveli, and my family marvels at the number of books I go through. I also have a couple hundred books that I had thought of getting rid of, but I just decided the other day to buy a bigger bookcase instead. My favorite authors include Stephen King, James Lee Burke, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Lee Child, Nora Roberts, and Agatha Christie. I will read from practically any genre. Paranormal Romance is my current favorite. Stephen King is my favorite Horror author, followed by Dean Koontz, Douglas Preston, John Saul. My favorite PR authors include Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Lora Leigh, Karen Marie Moning. The series I follow include Dark Hunters, Carpathians, Ghostwalkers, and the Fae series. My reading habit occasionally spins out of control and I have to cancel all of my book clubs until I can once again get a handle on it.

Wow! You sure hate reading huh? lol. If I ever need an author I will be sure to ask you. I love reading it takes me away and puts me in another world. I hate when a book doesnt turn out the way I imagined. I get so upset when the book is finished and I am literally feining for more. Its addicting. dl

I don't just LIKE reading, I LOVE it. I grew up reading books from fairy tales to teen pocketbooks to newspapers to magazines to novels to even encyclopedia. LOL. I have quite a variety of books in my bookshelf. I have Paolo Coelho, Dan Brown, John Grisham, J.K. Rowling, Sophie Kinsella, Stephenie Meyer, Nicholas Sparks, Mitch Albom and well... a lot more. Reading is one of my favorite things to do aside from sleeping, watching movies and listening to music. Ooh I also read the back of cereal boxes, lay's chips and even milk cartons.

I read everywhere. I am not the type to have a magazine rack in my bathroom. However, I have been known to read the back of the toothpaste or shampoo bottles in am emergency. LOL. I also read the milk cartons. Though I have yet to recognize any pictures on the back. I wish I did. I totally believe that reading is a must. Both my children dont like reading. I make my daughter read at least two books on summer vacation. My oldest daughter is now getting into it. Its not a punishment. THere are so many different types of reading. Many different authors writing on many different subjects. I can guarantee there is something for everyone. Thanks friend and Happy Reading. dl

yes i would say reading is one of my favourite hobbies. i love to read, as long as it's fiction. i'm not a fan of non-fiction because most of them are more like personal opinions of issues. if i wanted facts i'll just check the encyclopedia. amongst fiction authors, i have my favourite author for english books and mandarin books. for english books, my favourite has to be stephen king. i've read all his books and my favourite is the dark tower series. he is able to describe something in such details i can imagine it without much efforts. like you, i'll read instructions and ingredients if i have nothing else to read. i'll even read the fine prints of credit card agreements if there is really nothing else.

I have seen so many people get sucked into a bad deal due to avoiding the small print. I must applaud you my friend. You are the ULTIMATE reader. Congrats. dl

Hello friend, Yes, I do like to read but then I am not that much into reading. I read only if I am convinced about an author, like Dan Brown for Fiction and Erich Segal for romance. There are a few good books but then i am not a fan of any author other than Dan Brown.

I am used to the christian reading of the '90's. Boring and moral filled. I have heard from so many of my church members that the new readings are much different. You have tweaked my curiosity. I think I am going to us Mr. Joshua Harris as my choice of christian authors and see what I can find. THanks friend. dl

I don't read a lot. I read what is handed out in school and not many other books. but I do read A LOT of fashion magazines and other magazines. I read about 3-4 fashion magazine in my language a month, and then some other geekish magazine. Haha I know, right? And then I sometimes read the english Glamour and Vogue, and when I'm travelling in countries that have fashion magazines in a language that I don't understand - i buy them anyway just to see the pictures. It is fun to have magazines from all kinds of places. I also pick up the plane magazines and the magazines that are free in beauty stores and so on. Sometimes I even go to the library to read magazines. LOVE magazines

Reading is a great way to relax. It also stimulatesthe brain. Its like a form of excercis for the brain as well. NO matter what you read, its a good thing. Reading keeps your brain functioning in certain aspects. You should make a discussion up about your love for magazines. Maybe you could have people send you some that they have read or old ones they've had laying around for sometime now. I will look around and see what I have. I will send you a private message when I find some. If you want that is. I will get back to you and you can tell me if you want them. I am going to ask some friends to save theirs as well. If that is okay with you. If not, I understand. Happy Reading! dl
