If you look up "Tough Little Cookie" in the dictionary, you'd find a picture of Allen Iverson's face next to the definition. I been Iverson's fans for more than ten years. In this decade, i witnessed how he grew up from a boy to a man, and now an old gun. Now it's said that in the whole league no team wants him. The once MVP can't even find a job at the moment. I feel really sad about that. What's your opinion about this? Or can you tell me what's the problem with AI?

There is no problem with Allen Iverson. He has a wonderful career. He performs well every season. But last year, he played his worst season of his career in a team that reached the Eastern Conference Finals sixth consecutive times before he arrived there which is the Detroit Pistons. And this failure of the Pistons last season is not because of AI, it is there first timer coach that has been the problem for the Pistons. I mean, he isn't ready to coach an NBA team. If you will review his rotation of players, you will see that he is a poor coach because of his poor management of players. And one of the NBA analyst said that he have seen one of the worst player rotations in the history of NBA last season with the Pistons.. I don't believe that this would be the end of Iverson's career. He spend his career in the NBA for 13 years. He had 12 wonderful seasons and only one bad season and all the NBA analyst and almost all people who knows and watch NBA disrespect him. Just like that, he has been disrespected? I really can't believe how people disrespect him just like that. I mean, AI worked hard to earn respect in the NBA. But all of a sudden, in just one bad season, that respect vanish bit by bit.. AI don't need to prove anything now because he has proven a lot already throughout his career...

He's never proven that he is willing or able to play a secondary role. The only way he is going to keep playing and maybe have a shot at a ring is accept that. From what I've heard that is not where he is at.

AI has always defied the odds - too short, doesn't shoot well enough, won't match up well defensively - and yet he has more than held his own throughout the course of his NBA career. Now that his physical skills are starting to erode, he needs to reinvent his game if he wants to keep playing. The sad part of all this is, instead of taking a midlevel exception (or even signing for the veteran minimum) to play for a team with a shot at the finals, he's trying to latch on to the Grizzlies and Clippers so he can still be the man. Iverson needs to learn how to score without having the ball in his hands as much during a game. If he is willing to come off the bench as a change of pace guy, or be a slash and kick guy who facilitates for others, he could still be a valuable member of a winning team, but as long as he wants 20 shots a game, he'll have a tough time finding a job and an even tougher time hooking up with a winning team.

Never liked the guy and never will. He's good for putting people in the seats but that's about it. He's a washed-up has-been who thinks he still has it when in fact he does not. Did you see him play in detroit this year? He SUCKED! Big time. And no he was not injured he just plain sucked. Don't feel bad about him, he had a chance to go to a team like Detroit and try to win a championship instead he destroyed that team. They guy should retire and never come back to the NBA. I do not care for NBA players that have a chance to redeem themselves and instead they screw it up. Iverson is DONE DONE DONE.

Never been an Iverson fan. In fact I rather disliked him even in the early days of his career. That being said though I would not mind having him on my bench if I were an NBA coach. Why? There are times when nothing you try seems to work. Iverson while in my opinion plays selfish and makes poor decisions on the court, he does have that ability to make something good happen against all odds at times. If he could bring himself to take a pay cut and play a secondary role he might bring some real value to the teams he plays for. I don't think he'll accept that though. I think he's on a count down to his retirement.

I am an Allen Iverson fan before but I can say that his career will end soon. Last season, he was benched in Detroit and he didn't like it. With the addition of new blood in the NBA, it will be difficult for him to find the role that he like. SO if he can't settle or if he will not set aside his pride, his career might end next season. As of now, he has not signed on any team because he doesn't like to come from the bench. Unless the Charlotte Bobcats make a move to acquire him, I believe that we'll not see AI next season.

Yes, I agree. I have always liked A I but he is getting older and he is not the flashy player he once was. The problem with him is also that he is not the greatest team player and many GM's are scared to bting him in and mess up the team chemistry.

Say it ain't so!! I have always been a fan of Allen Iverson as well, and think he is a great player. I have been very disappointed with the whole league this past season. Everyone is trying to be the greatest, and it has become less about the game, and more about the money. I miss it when there were players that played for love of the game, now they love the game because of the money it brings. I am sad about it as well, and hope he doesn't get forced into retirement.
