Yep, I clean my registry about once a week as part of a routine which includes backing up and defraging as well. I use ccleaner as well as I have never had any issues with it and it is so quick n easy. I also like the fact that it does prompt you to back up your registry before you do a clean which with some systems I have used never did this.
