I wonder about the banner ads in mylot

I looong loooong time ago, mylot.com was touted to be a one-of-a-kind social site because it is ad-free. That is why it would seem very strange for me when I see postings with ads or links to some other sites. However, not only do I see ads on mylot, but it's ads about "hot college girls" and some other adults sites. Is this something promoted by mylot? Has policy changed?
