Do you have pictures of yourself as a child?

I received pictures of myself as a child for Christmas one year in a scrapbook. I love them. My daughters love looking at them too..I guess they can't imagine me as a child..lol. There was a long period in which I didn't have them though. They are very treasured to me now. Do you have any? If you do, do you display them or keep them in an album?

Oh, ya and they are scarey as hell! My school picture in the fifth grad I think. My aunt had cut my bangs til they were about an inch and a half long. Ugly! I stayed with her on the weekends alot to go to church with her and the cousins. She decided I needed my bangs 'trimmed'. Well, any closer and I would have been scalped. To this day I do not wear bangs. I hate them! I am traumatized for life.LOL

Good for you. I have been considering putting some of mine in a frame. My neighbor has hers displayed and they accent her home beautifully. Thanks for responding.

Yes I do have a few and I know how you feel. Childhood pictures are definitely a treasure - and I often feel quite intrigued by looking at them and realising that I was very tiny once too! My mother has even kept some of my old clothes from when I was a little baby, and I tend to get quite emotional when she shows me them!

I have lots of pictures when I was little. My mom loves taking pictures of me and I'm glad she had done so because I'm so happy when I look at all those pictures of me. I have about 20 albums when I was little, when I'm 7 year old and below. That's many right? My mom kept it in an album and I've put it in a cabinet to have it more organized. When I will have kids in the future, I will show them my photos when I was young. And yes, I have a certain pic which I put in a table beside my bed, that was when I'm 3 years old if I'm not mistaken.

20 albums...wow! That is a lot. I think it's great. Your future children will love looking through them. I have been considering putting a couple of mine on display too. My daughters resemble me greatly as babies. They have grown out of that a bit now but as babies we look a lot alike. Thanks for responding.

Haha, that's really a treasurable thing for us to own a picture of our childhood, I guess most people have one or more. But, unfortuanately, I even don't have one. Well, you know, my family was very poor when I was a child and we didn't have any chances to make a picture of ourselvies, so that's a little regretful. Yet, now we still enjoy our lives.

No I do not have pictures of myself as a child. I have looked through these pictures of myself, though I have never taken any to keep, as far as I remember. It is fun to look at pictures from childhood, anyone's really! lol!

I believe my mom has a picture of me while I was sleeping, I had a friend (no longer friends with) who took a video of my reaction (being woken up) to her belching... Lovely! They were drunk suffice it to say. Those moments that are just too funny, maybe not to the one or ones in the picture, but to the picture taker, are the best. Shows life, ya know? Even sad pictures, shows life.

They do show life. Even the sad ones. It's kind of strange when you think of them as being moments frozen in time. I would have peed my pants if I had seen you wake up to a belch though..LOL

I have a few, but not many. Since I was the youngest of three, there are less photos of me as a child and more of my brother and sister. Also, back in the fifties and sixties, I do not think people took as many photos as it was not cheap to develop them.

I only have a few too. I think there are more of me floating around somewhere I would love to have but I have been "away" from my family for a long time. There may be none for all I know. I do enjoy the ones I have though.

I am fortunate that my mom has kept for me the photos taken when I was a little baby. Though having turned yellow, they give true records of the then scenes, process of growth, and also the imprints of time changes, say, from the clothing, and the background. I tresure them all, and have managed to turn them into digital, which hopefully will last longer.

That's great you have them and have made them digital. There are a lot of ways now that we can save pictures from the past that have aged. There are places here that will restore old pictures. Thanks for responding.

Actually, I don't have too many. My parents weren't really into the picture taking thing I suppose. I have quite a few of myself under a year old, a big gap between 1 and 5, and a few later on. Really not too much to look back on though. It's a shame :(

My mum has a lot of my photos in albums which she treasures, she also had framed photos of me in my school uniform, but the most treasured photo I have of myself is when I am 4 years old in my garden at home, I have beautiful blond hair and I look absolutely adorable! Sad to say that my hair went brown and I lost my blond hair which I found upsetting. I always look at that photo but it does make me sad, how I am then to how I am today and everything that has happened over the 35 years since that photo was originally taken.

I bet you were a cutie. I had really blond hair when I was little too. I think that sometimes it can be sad but these are the things that make us who we are. If we were never saddened then we wouldn't appreciate being happy as much. Heads up..your still that little guy..just bigger.

No, I don't. My mom has them...I think. I don't think she would get rid of them, but I can't say the same for my stepfather, so who's to say. I'll have to ask her about it the next time I talk to her. I've been meaning to anyway as I'd like to scan some of the old family photos so I can have my own copies.

I do have some pictures of me when I was a child. I treasure them so much considering that they are not so many. They were on special occasions considering that when I was young we do have money for a camera and obviously it was only during special moments that pictures were taken.
