Do you prefer the food of your country or another country and why or why not? I like different types of food but I'd have to say for the most part that I prefer American food. American food, to me, is food from many different cultures. Pizza might be called American food but it originally came from Italy.

You really have to identify American food, pizza isn't American food, the USA was formed by many cultures, so as they cooked their special dishes, and they grew more wealthy their spacial dishes changed, more meat! LOL! But I would think the southern style cooking is probably the most typical American style that's out there today! I was raised in Detroit MI but everything we ate was influenced by other cultures! My mothers side of the family was from Kentucky and the food they ate was very different from what we ate in Michigan! Think possum, and squirrel! Now that's an American dish! How about some grits! tdemex

I guess I should have explained my reasoning a little bit better. I feel like "American" is made up of many different cultures. I don't think there's much that you can put your finger on and say that is American. I feel like it was all influenced by other countries and cultures when they came into America.

I love Asian food. I find it to be filling and light at the same time. Most foods give you this weighed down feeling as you fill up. Asian food doesn't give you that bloated, oh my goodness I weigh 500lbs, feeling. Plus, while I'm not a vegetarian, I LOVE my veggies. :)

I personally prefer English food (my own country). I guess a part of it is being brought up with certain types of food depending on your culture. I love English food because it is a pretty balanced diet, your traditional british foods nearly always consist of meat and two veg, its just good wholesome stuff
