PTC Sites - How to research them??

Good morning fellow myLotters, My morning questions is on PTC sites. I know there is a lot of information out there regarding PTC sites, some good some bad. I do research on them before I sign up and sometimes the research leaves my head spinning because it'll be a 50/50 split on if the site is a paying site or a scam site. So my question(s) for you are: Do you research ptc sites before signing up? If so please share how you research the sites. Thank you and Happy myLotting!!
