Borat was a pretty popular movie. There was a lot of hype about Bruno before it came out. However, people have said it wasn't as good as Borat. But a lot of people still liked it. So what do you think?

I could not even finish watching Borat so I don't have plans to watch Bruno. I did not find borat remotely amusing so I probly won't like Bruno so why waste the money.

Haha yeah I suppose if you didn't like one you definitely wouldn't like another.

I haven't seen Bruno yet, don't plan to. I watched as much as I could stand of Borat. I shut it off I think around the scene with the two guys wrestling in that hotel room, that was enough for me. The rest of the movie was near intolerable up to that point, but that one scene finished it for me. I'm not a big fan of the so called "dumb comedy" genre. I am more drawn to comedy the likes of "father of the bride" and such.

Yeah I didn't much like that icky hotel scene either, and I agree that stupid comedy is the best either. I did like Borat though overall. The stuff I liked about it, though, wasn't the stupid farce but what the people he talked to revealed. For one I thought it was funny watching some of the people trying to not be awkward, but most of all I liked the movie for how it showed how ignorant and bigoted people were.

Borat by a long shot, at least that movie didn't have explicit material in it, that burned my eyes

And even that did have some explicit parts. Bruno clearly just went to far.

Borat wins hands down. Bruno was far too explicit (especially the first 20 minutes). I literally had to sheild my eyes. For me what made Borat so funny was not Borat himself but the things the unaware everyday people were caught saying or doing. There true colors really shone. In Bruno there is less of this (the attention all being on Bruno) and most of it is too staged. However in saying this parts of Bruno still made me laugh. E.g When he made two opposing political leaders hold hands while he danced. I would have rather of watched Borat 2 when Borat visits England.

Yeah you make a good point. I agree with you that what was funny about Borat was what he brought out in other people- not himself. It was crazy what some of those people said that he talked to. So maybe Bruno would have been better if it had aimed more for that.
