Just read an article on the birther movement within the conservative community. The article gave some information I was not aware of...the first to question Mr. Obama's birth certificate's authenticity was Hilary Clinton via her husband, ex president Bill Clinton. I was surprised that the origins of this movement was the Democrats themselves. The author of the article claims this movement is counter productive to the Republican party's attempt to re gain power. Please read the article and tell me what you think. I for one am dumbfounded and confused. http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/07/the_political_alchemy_of_birth.html

I have been following this issue from the beginning, and have an entire file devoted to 0bozo's eligibility... or his lack thereof. I think this author is missing the point entirely... if anything, it is the democrats who are taking the hits on this issue. McCain was subjected to a Congressional hearing because of questions of his eligibility, and he provided his birth certificate immediately is order to settle those questions. 0bozo.... despite claiming to be the most transparent administration in recorded history.... has spent upwards of a million dollars in legal fees to makes sure none of his records including his birth certificate are released. He obviously has something to hide, and I for one think he needs to be held accountable to the Constitution.

There are far too many lawsuits in the works for the democrats to prove anything at this point... and it was a democrat that started the whole mess to begin with. I just checked the file, and it contains 211 links... and that is not including the ones from today... or the ones leading up to the election which have not yet been sorted. Thanks to gmail... I was able to save most of them from that last computer crash.

I think what was the author's point is...the Democrats will 'prove' that it is a bogus claim...and it will sour any chance the Republicans may have in 2012. I don't agree with the author btw....IF it is 'proven' he is a citizen, it will be because enough money was spent to cover things up, shut up the ones demanding the production of the documentation and enough disinformation and propagada dissemated to ensure the lie. It won't mean he proved anything except he has some rich backers. And I do believe barring any 'miracle' that Mr. Obama will not serve a second term. I am not a prophet though...

We are duped on an almost daily basis by both parties. They use us, they use each other and have us all squabbling over issues that are irelevent. It keeps our "eye off the ball" so to speak. I am more and more convinced most of the petty actions taken by our "dear leaders" are designed to keep us divided in a false left/right paradigm. I'll bet those bastardds are up there after a days work having drinks together all laughing at our dumb sheeple arses. We deserve it too.

I agree with you on all points but one...I do not feel all deserve it. The majority may...after all, they've truly turned into sheeple. But there is an element that doesn't deserve it. OUR CHILDREN!

I more or less meant those who continualy vote for one of those same two statist parties year after year and expect "change". No your right, our children don't deserve it, neither do those of us who have woken up and are trying to effect genuine change. But the patriot is always in the minority and ridiculed at the beginning of any revolution.

I have to admit, I've been one of those. But do you think enough voters will stop this madness and vote conscience next time? We do need to offset the power in congress...my hope is we can slow down some of this 'change' in 2010 by taking the power from the democrats. If there is even elections to vote in. I've read some articles asking these same questions. Voting independent seems to only keep the power in one party's hands. It spreads the vote to thin. Do you really think it will come to a revolution? I don't want to see fighting and shooting. How did we get here? People need to ask themselves that question first - before the shooting starts.

Bill did that in hopes of getting people riled up and voting his wife into office. But as of today I don't think it would have been that different even if she had won the election. They(Clintons and Obama) seem to agree on what is going on in the White House. Too many lies and too much cover ups have been done for me to ever trust either of them. What we should have done is not have let Obama take office without answers to the questions we all are still waiting for. He should have been made to produce a real Birth Certificate, all school records and validation of all before he could be sworn in. If he refused then the office of president should have been handed over to his opponent, McCaine who did abide by the Constitution and provided proof.

Lies and cover ups and disinformation. Which as Dawn describes...is giving people headaches! Is anyone aware of current debate on legislation that would make it a law to produce documentation before even running for public office? I remember reading something about that...need to get into the habit of taking notes since my brain won't hold onto the facts. lol I agree, if McCain DID provide documentation when asked, who is Obama, to refuse? The fact that money has been spent on avoiding doing so....we need to be asking WHO is spending all that money...cause it sure isn't Obama. HHHHMMMMM????

Oyyy do I have a headache... The birth certificate IS an issue. The birth certificate isn't an issue. There is too darn much conflicting information out on the internet. It's not surprising that the whole thing started during the primaries though. After all, at the time it was pitting Democrats against Democrats. But I guess what they are saying is that the Democrats are now using it as a distraction to get Republicans attention away from the real problems with the Obama administration. And that does make sense in a weird way...
