The recession has hit us very badly, no doubt about it. So we have to be more careful in the days ahead. I have brought lot of changes in my style of living. First I never use to carry homefood to office. But now I have stopped eating all junk foods from outside and started taking my homefood to office. This way I can save all that unwanted expences by eating out. What about you? Have you changed your eating habits?

I haven't really changed my eating habits. But that is because I have always taken food from home to my work place. So I don't have anything to cut out to save more money than I was already saving.

True, my mom's food is tasty, but I don't live with my mom. When I take food from home to work it is food I've cooked or just a sandwich I've made.

Good to know you always prefer mom's food. That is the tastiest food in the world. Thanks for your response.

My fiance and I have both changed our eating habits, but not because of the recession. The recession is bad, yes, but it hasn't effected us to the extent that we have to cut back on our food intake. However, we have cut back because we are dieting. I am sure it does help every bit though with saving money in the long run.

Well dieting is good but not to the extent of starving. Take care and anything in excess is really bad.

Not drastically but yes, to some extent. We are regular fish eaters but with the cost of almost everything increasing by leaps and bounds, we have compromised on having fish daily…now maybe we have it once or twice a week. Similarly, eggs were the most handy thing to have whenever anybody was hungry, but now even eggs have become so costly that I have started rationing it. similarly for butter and yoghurt…all these were an integral part of our daily food habits but now I have earmarked specific days of the week when we are to have a particular thing.

Yes when things go beyond one's reach, some hard steps have to be taken. When going gets tough, tough gets going. Thanks for your response.

Ur right , recession had hit every where and in addition to that because of budget, the prices of food products has raised.. so i reduced my food and even going out. Its very bad situation for all... I think off the people who struggle for their food...

Yes actually most recently I've changed my eating habits. I use to eat A LOT of fried foods and just junk food. So recently within the last 2 or 3 years Ive started to bake and eat a lot more salads and fruit. My boyfriend actually got me into salad to be honest I would eat it yes but,now I find myself eating it as a snack not just with my dinner or lunch. I've also noticed Ive had A LOT MORE energy and speed through out my day to day So I'm happy with my new eating habits.

I have definitely changed my eating habits recently, and yes a factor in my reason for doing so is the recession. My family has stopped eating out less, and buying more foods in bulk, such canned soup to save money. We also have cut down on our snacking and mainly just eat the basic three meals a day.

ya you are right and you have taken a positive step to cut your expenses. as for me i donot have much of junk food and prefer to take a lunch box to my college.that takes cares of the hygiene as well as cuts the expenses and saves your pocket in recession time.
