Would you buy it? What to do.... (little black dress dilemma)

I met a friend today at the mall and while looking at some stuff, I found the PERFECT little black dress. Ok, actually SHE found it and I agreed to try it on. Love it. LOVE IT!! It's totally awesome. HOWEVER. I already have 2 other 'little black dresses'. I don't have anything to wear something like this to, it's like a formal cocktail dress. It fits like a dream. It's only $22.50. BUT I don't buy stuff I don't need. But it's only $22.50. She kept telling me I should buy it. It's really cheap compared to what my other dresses of this style/type cost. But I don't need it! What would you do? I think it looks awesome on me lol. I usually will think about something for a week and if I still REALLY want it, I'll go buy it. I'm expecting some money from a friend which will pay for about half of it... Should I buy it? I think she's going to kill me eventually if I don't buy it but I can't seem to shake that whole 'why should I buy it if I don't need it'. BUT IT IS THE MOST PERFECT DRESS I HAVE EVER SEEN! ARGH! Am I being stupid? It's not like I can't afford it.

If you can afford it then buy it and then convince your friend to go somewhere with you that you will need to wear it that way it does not just hang in your closet. The perfect dress is hard to find, and this price is great.

LOL! I am thinking about it today still. I think even my husband would laugh at me because in terms of cost, it IS cheap. I am good at finding bargain deals on things when I actually buy them. I wish I had something special to wear it for but our anniversary was in March. If I'm still thinking about it this weekend, I will probably just get it. The store had a few on the rack so I think I am safe till then.

Of course you need it. Once you have it you will find the perfect occasion to wear it, believe me. Ok nowadays I also tend not to buy things that I don't really need, but a little black dress.... we always need one more. I'm not sure how the prices compare to the ones here, but even so, the price looks wonderful to me... can't even buy a proper bra for that much in here LOL I say go for it. And if I was a person that bets a lot, I would bet that you will find an occasion or place to wear it very soon. Go for it. One can't always wear the same dress or two dresses, and this one is sounds so special!!!!

It is the first 'formal' type dress I have bought since my daughter was born. She's five and a half... it was time. I am hard to fit, even most dresses I think are perfect end up being too long. This one isn't! I won't have to get it altered!

Great, I`m glad you bought it. Now it would be even nicer if you took a picture with it and showed us:) We are entitled to something every once in a while, more than that, we deserve it. As a rule we tend to always leave our little selves behind while we do and buy things to everyone else, that`s what mom`s tend to do, but it gets to a time that we really need to indulge a little :)

hell yes buy it!, you can never have too many little black dresses, especially ones that make you look good, and at that price, so go for it. there is not reason to feel guilty it is not like it is in triple digit price range after all. besides which guilt is a wasteful emotion. in these trying times what with the ecomomic climate, well will this purchase make you happy?

Hehe... for sure. Usually I somewhat regret a purchase but this time I didn't! I'm glad I bought it, it's going to be fun to wear out!

If you have lots of money or extra money then buy it. But if you need money or you have to save money, don't buy it. anyway you don't need it. And you already have dresses which makes you look good. Buy it if you really like it but remember to prioritize things and spend your money on the things that you need.

Yeah, I know, that in essence is why I didn't buy it 'in the moment'. I did however go back and buy it the next day. I had some money coming which was what justified buying it.

I say buy the black dress, it only cost $22.50. You say you don't know an event to wear the dress. You can wear it to a ballroom event, an anniversary, and a special dinner. You may feel you going to be overdress, I said wear it anyway. It might sounds crazy but put on the dress and go take you some sexy pictures. One of these events may not be coming up soon. However, you can always wear it next year or so. It's rarely that women find I dress that fits them perfectly. So, go buy the dress.

You are a mum right? You probably don't spend a lot of money on yourself because you are handing it out for this and that for your family. My reasoning, go for it!!! It doesn't matter you already have 2 like it, it isn't this one. You need to spend money on yourself too, to balance what the rest of the family gets! LOL

You might as well buy it if you like it so much & the price is definitely right. You said yourself "it is the most perfect dress" you've ever seen & looks really good on you. You said you have 2 other little black dresses, but do they look as good as this one does? If you had all 3 in your closet, which one would you pick to wear out? Let us know what you decide! :) Jill

The price shall be small compared to the other materials you have. But if you need that money badly for other usage, then you need not afford it for something you don't need badly. We should not get carried away for others sake and then worry later.Just say no if you don't need it.Cheers!

Yep, this is usually how I feel about things, moreso since the economy took a dump. I used to buy new clothes all the time but I am now realizing since I stopped buying months ago that we just have so much stuff. I mean my daughter grows out of things, I don't lol. However.... once in awhile... it's probably not bad to splurge. It's not like it's a $200 dress lol.

Our lives change so much and you may find that you will need that little black dress sooner than you thought. If you have the money to buy it, why not? It is not a large price. If for no other reason, I would put the dress on and take a look at myself in the mirror just for a lift in life and then hang it back up knowing you look perfect in that perfect little black dress!

LOL! My friend goes 'why have a body like that if you don't show it off?!' Now granted she is just like this about everything, but she does have a point. I suppose I'm not a show offy type of person, although according to her, I should be!

I would go right now and buy that dress. If it doesn't fit into your budget i wouldn't recommend buying it but if you can afford it then i would go for it. Little black dresses are just so classy and never go out of style. If it's perfect i would jump on it and go and get the dress. And $22.50 is a really good deal. Just do some extra posting on mylot to make up for buying the dress. It will even out eventually!

People always say a nice item of clothing is a better reward for lots of time put in at the gym than a gallon of ice cream lol! I haven't bought a dress in quite awhile, I think I'm going to buy it this weekend
