Why don't we get alerts when people respond back after a comment?

You know the thing, you put a topic on, get an alert that someone has responded, go in and put a comment on, then you have no idea they have responded again until the next time you go into the discussion to comment on the next response. How do you notice these extra responses?

I t would be great if we did. I try to go back & look because i don't want to leave anyone out who is nice enough to respond but i'm afraid i have or will. U got any pull??

That is the one thing that is missing here. I normally check on the column 'started' and if the last name there is not mine then I know that there is a comment waiting for me to read. I think mylot should add that notification so that we are well informed of any new comments to our discussions.

Hi zandhi, totally agree with you on that one, I really would like an alert on those comments back as they can give a bit of life to your discussions. I've just been looking under discussions started to see if there is anything new, just like you do, but it seems a bit of a long way round when it would be so much easier with an alert.

Yeah. I too have wondered about this. Normally I would check the tabs started and responded regularly to check if someone has made a response or comment. But sometimes I do get notified through mail when a second comment is posted. I wonder if there is a problem in the algorithm regarding this. However it would be extremely useful if they send notifications every time someone comments be it second third or even more.

Hi jeeva, that's the problem really, if you get one alert you don't bother checking back as you kind of presume it is working and then go blindly along ignoring everyone else who has taken the trouble to comment back again. I never thought of checking the tabs started, I'll keep an eye out, thanks.

it does,but it's kind of spotty.
i get maybe half of the notifications.
i usually just check my profile to see if any bounced back up since i was last on.

I have noticed that when the beginning I srated, I think we just need to check back once in a while to see if we get any responses, I don't think we could set notifications about receiving extra responses.
