Need Some Mylot Therapy.........

Regina, Saskatchewan
July 30, 2009 9:10pm CST
As we all learned this week, a REAL DOCTOR has prescribed mylot as therapy for all kinds of things. And seeing as how the first prescription for it was given to me, I think it's time for me to start taking my 'medicine'. SO. Ask me something. Anything. Make me think. Make me use my little grey cells. Make me research or just plain make me make YOU laugh, learn, whatever. The answers I know, I'll share; the ones I don't, I look up, and the rest I'll just make up! LOL Therapy session called to order! What do you want to know?

We've already covered whether or not it was true if a pregnant goldfish was called a twit. Hmmm....let me think.... .....Nope...nothing. So in the absence of you providing an answer to a question I don't have to ask..... Make me laugh woman!

here is one, if you want. I wrote a research paper on it and if you are supposed to excercise your mind this may help. What do Gardners multiple intelegences have to do with how the brain remembers? Have fun with it

The school I worked for used Gardner's multiple intelligence and lemme tell ya, those kids LEARN! Gardner himself has come to the school to speak. Sigh. I miss that place...

Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences revolutionized the teaching profession. In a nutshell he posited that the brain remembers information as it naturally relates to seven...now eight different human capacities. You know what they are, so I won't waste time listing them. I call them talents..........those things we are naturally good at because our brain easily assimilates and processes information through them, as if through filters. Most people say they can't remember things unless they are written down for example. The visual component... When I was younger that wasn't as true as it is now. But my audio 'memory' was and remains excellent. I could go on, but I think you get the gist and I thank you for bringing this subject to my attention. I've always found it fascinating!

What I think is so cool about it is that they have actually pinpointed the parts of the brain that are responsible for memory through these different learning styles. Thank you, becuase it is not often I meet someone who knows about these things that are not my professors. Have a wonderful day!!

What have you done lately? What would you like to do for fun, for YOU, and just because you have always wanted to. What do you wish that you had? Is there anything that you wish that you could do? If you could get something any small thing and big thing what would you want? Have I given you enough for now to think about? I sure can come up with some more if you want me to. I might be kind of quiet but my mind runs a thousand miles a second. lol Has your weather calmed down there? It should have because your sparatic rains and storms have come here and hung around all week. I have no idea how long they will stay but the rain starts all of a sudden and the sky seems to be falling, it's rain buckets with thunder and lightening. I think I covered enough for now. Love ya.

Well I guess when you get your new house the bedroom is going to have to be big enough for a king size bed and your other things. We must work on you getting to spend time with your children. Hummm, I have no phone numbers for them ...I guess we need to save money for you to go for a visit. The little dog would be a nice thing. Depending on if Spunky is okay with it and I think she would be. For hugging everyone, well we know how that feels we all want to do that. SO we just let them know and they "feel" it. Yes, you certainly sent us the rain storms and winds. lol ((((HUGS))))

1. Lately I've spent time with hubs. He went back to work today. 2. For fun, for just me, I'd like to spend time with my kids. 3. I wish I had more time to spend with those I love. 4. I wish that I could reach through my computer screen and hug everyone I care about that I only get to meet through my laptop. 5. I wish I had a small dog and I wish I had a big bed I could get lost in when the hubs is home. lol 6. Yes you've given me enough to think about! ROFL 7. Yes the weather has calmed down here because I sent it all to you! lol I love you too!

OK,I'll bite! (and I have had all my shots, so you don't have to worry about rabies!) This is good therapy? I never would have thought it! But I do know that it helps me to open about things that I have kept inside. Things that I don't need to worry my husband over. Anyway, I have to take a class for my work and it is one day a week for nine weeks. Question: If I start right away it will mean that I will miss my niece's wedding (only niece on my husband's side). If I wait to start later, will it look to my boss that I am not all that interested and also, it will take me into the holidays. What shall I do?

Hopefully your boss is not a jerk and you can find a quiet moment to speak to them privately and explain that your committment to the wedding pre-dates your enrollment in the class you must take, and ask politely if it would be possible to either take that day off so you can attend this important family function, and make it up in some other way. In situations like this, it's always best to go to the boss and it's imperative to be firm but polite (you have rights you know!) and give them the option of working the problem out with your full co-operation. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

Start the class and ask the teacher at the first class for the day off. My professor in my last class gave me the class off because of a wedding we had to attend. Some professors/instructors are nice and bend the rules, especially if you are a good student. Good luck with both. Namaste-Anora

Ok, I'll bite :) I still have the stupid raccon - maybe two now ...oh and who knows, probably babies too! - in my roof. Or rather between my roof and the ceiling on the top floor. I spent $400 last summer to have a company send a guy to put a one way trap to get rid of the beast. Because my mom was here and we were out most of the time, I didn't hear him for some time so I thought it worked. But about a month later I start hearing it again. It had never left. ANd instead had made a hole in the outside wall where it reaches the roof. So now I have a hole that I can't close until they are all out. A raccoon - or more from the sounds I hear in my ceiling.\Called the company they said it couldn't be the same raccoon because the one way trap would not allow him to go back him, it has to be another one that found another place to get in. I don't know what to do to get rid of it. I have no direct access to where he is.What would have normally be the attic is now a room so nothing is open to the roof. I don't want to spend another $400 on it, since it didn't even work the last time. But I need him/them out. What can I do?

Hi Arkaf61, I know you intend to make our Sparks think this out, but I suggest you contact someone in animal control to come out and eradicate the pests who are destroying your house, (your property!) I know that most government agencies right now are crying the blues for a lack of funding but these local agencies are supposed to be in place for such problems. Once the vermin are removed you must hire a contractor to seal your house shut so they don't get back in again. Sealing the house might cost more than $400.00 depending on the damage already done, but if you don't get rid of the pests you could end up with those rascals inside your house as drywall or other interior wall products are much easier to get through as opposed to most exterior wall construction. Do it soon, as the sooner the better.

Well that's who I called at first. City Hall used to have a service where they would take care of that. Unfortunately that doesn't exist anymore. They tell us to deal with the problem ourselves - but we can't injure the animal - mostly they probably stuck a deal with the pest removal companies. In any case, I really don't want to keep paying $400 for a solution that doesn't work. To make matters worse, my house is one of 3 in a row! This is really bothering me grrrrr

Two virgins and four cats will get you 3 dozen eggs in China. But if you want to use money it's about $3.00 a dozen.

Sparks- I have two questions for you, . Where does your screen name come from, and how did you come about it? My second question is for you, and any experienced baker. I'm having trouble with my biscuits. I live in Minnesota so I'm wondering if there is a difference in altitude effecting them. They are not rising very much unless I cut them more then the allotted 2 inchs! I'm using three teaspoons of baking powder as the recipe calls for, but it doesn't seem to be doing a thing. Any suggestions? Namaste-Anora

My screen name was given to me by Bellaofchaos. I'd gotten myself banned and she and I were brainstorming one day, after I decided to come back and knowing me as well as she did by then, she came up with sparkofinsanity........just spark of, so I would remember to keep my temper under control! LOL As for your biscuits, I found this: "First off, if you’re using the basic homemade biscuit recipe; flour, baking powder, oil, and milk. Then you should start by putting in 3/4 more milk than oil. The oil tends to make the biscuits drier, but the milk will make your homemade biscuit recipe, lighter. For instance if your homemade biscuit recipe was 1/3 cup oil, and 2/3 cup milk, then you should change your biscuit recipe to 1/4 cup oil and 3/4 cup milk. Also if you want a real light and fluffy biscuit recipe be sure you aren’t using a heavy coarse flour like rye, or whole wheat flour. These tend to “drag” the biscuits down and make them heavier. Another good tip for a good fluffy biscuit recipe, is to add herbs to the biscuit dough before you bake them. Basil is an excellent herb to add, especially when you also add a few teaspoons of Parmesan cheese too. Other herbs that make for good biscuit add-ins are fresh chives or green onions." I'm not the baker in our family, and the hubs isn't home, so I had to look it up. But with everything I read, it seems to me you might be using too much baking powder. I hope this helps. I couldn't find anything that said altitude in Minnesota would affect the rise of baked goods. Could also be uneven heat distribution in your oven if it's an old one. My gran used to say you always knew when it was time to get a new oven, when the biscuits turned out wrong. lol

Sparks- I love how you got that name, it makes even more special and precious! It does suit you for certain. Thank you for sharing! Thanks for the advice on the biscuits. I've written down what you've shared and will be transfering it to my cookbook. I'm using the old Betty Crocker cookbook. As far as the oven, I've complained several times to my landlord and they refuse to fix it, or the dishwasher! It's really annoying. Thanks again hun. Namaste-Anora

Discussions on here just really make me think about the rest of the attitudes of people on here. Just wish everyone was like you and thinking about myLot that way. Too many take it too seriously and need a good laugh and need to think of it as a way to get money nothing more, nothing less and if you help people in between then you've done your good deed for the day.

You opened a door girl, because I am full of questions LOL. Why do we park in a driveway and drive on a parkway? Where's the beef? What came first? The chicken or the egg? Why did they choose the green M&M to be a female and not any other color? Why is there only one female smurf? What color does a smurf turn if you choke it? And there is more where that came from....

What's the geographic center of Saskatchewan and of Canada and what are the primary resources that Saskatchewan offers (of any category)? What jurisdictions are covered by the CRMP? What are the local law enforcements called? Does Canada have income tax? Is it filed annually? Do they allow refunds for overpayment? How about the national bird? The provincial bird?? That ought to keep you busy for a few minutes, you think? Enjoy the hunt!!

Ih this great and I do have all kinds of problems but for your benefit I won't go into all of them right. My husband is currently laid off from work. He works out of a local union hall. They keep telling him about future jobs and nothing is happening. He has been offered work from two differnt companies, but they both mean he will have to work out of town or possible move to another state. It pays well and is long term. He isn't wanting to take it because the out of town deal. I want him to take it, so we are have major dicusssions about that. Not happy discussion. How can I make him understand the importance of this or How can I accept his decision? Help!!!!
