Besides those treatments at the bottom..Do you know someth'n simple to cure the palmar hydrosis? Let say the one that people have been say'n, warm water with salt.. • Oral medication. Some physicians recommend certain oral medications such as Ditropan or Robinul. The FDA has not approved an oral medication specific for excessive sweating, however, if your doctor recommends using these, do not keep using them for a long term because of the side effects. What this sweaty hand treatment do is prevent the stimulation of sweat glands. • Surgery, called Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy. This surgery has become the most effective measure against excessive sweat; however it is applied to people suffering severe palmar hyperhidrosis. In this surgical procedure, portions of the sympathetic nerve trunk are cut, or removed. MORE INFO • Botulinum toxic. This is what is commonly known as Botox, the trademark term. Botulinum toxic is applied in the form of injections to the hand or feet. Their effects last up to 9 months, when a new injection is needed. • Aluminum chloride solution. This solution is used commonly in antiperspirants. This solution, that is stronger for people who suffer from hyperhidrosis, is applied nightly for a week, and after that twice a week to maintain. This treatment is not very effective for palmar sweating. • Iontophoresis. The affected area is placed in a device that has two pails of water with a conductor in each one. The hand or foot acts like a conductor between the positively- and negatively-charged pails. As the low current passes through the area, the minerals in the water clog the sweat glands, limiting the amount of sweat released. • Hypnosis. This alternative method involves a professional inducing a trance state to put suggestions in our mind. Its success is limited, and there shouldn’t be any fear if you’d like to try it. • Meditation. This treatment is very helpful to people whose sweating is triggered by anxiety. Relaxation of our mind has a very deep impact in our bodies and overall health. • Weight Loss. Obesity is tied to sweating, losing some pounds might help you if you don’t have a severe case. • Biofeedback. This is an alternative treatment that basically involves a series of techniques to be more aware of our body functions, and ultimately control them.
