DVD Drive

I think so its just a CD-ROM as you mentioned that it reads VCD just check it on its properties or else give a glance to the box as all the details will be mentioned on it. Let me know clearly it is DVD-ROM or CD-ROM. Please mention it so as to guide you better.

did you mean your dvd player can't read dvd rom? have you try to clean up your dvd player lens with dvd lens cleaner? can your dvd player read other dvd? if yes, try to clean the dvd you want to play then.

oh i remember, my friend had the exact same problem as you, i don't exactly know the remedy but i think you need to reinstall the driver for the dvd rom, i hope that helps.

Are you sure that can your DVD ROM read another DVD? if it can read another DVD, maybe this DVD has a fault, or it is too old, your DVD ROM can read VCD, ought to have no problem in reading.if it can't read another DVD,you might reinstall offical drivers software according to good suggestion from a friend. good luck!
